The President is chosen from chapter membership elections, must have previously served on the PMI Mile-Hi chapter board, and  will meet all the duties and responsibilities of the President. The President has a vote on the Executive Board (Board)

President

PMI Mile Hi is the largest community of project leaders in Colorado and on of the largest chapters in the world, with over 4,900 members.

It's focus is providing the premier environment where individual practitioners can enhance their professional growth and connect with other professionals through its events, programs, classes and seminars.

Responsibilities include:

- Create and manage budget
 - Govern Programs teams (Mentoring, Job Opportunities, Volunteer, Membership, Military, Community Involvement/Non-Profits)
- Monthly event planning for Membership
- Participate in board meetings and strategic planning for the PMI Mile Hi Chapter
- Lead, train and mentor directors & leaders

Vice President Of Membership

Develop, support, and govern program teams that provide benefits to project management institute chapter members.  Mentor and train directors to facilitate improved programs.  Provide information, reporting, and collaboration with the PMI chapter board.  

Build relationships that sustain benefits to members/clients for the PMI Mile Hi Chapter.

Turn around program challenges by participating in events, process improvement discussions, and assist with volunteer staffing.  Escalation point when integration and collaboration is needed.

Executive Director Membership

Connected corporate project and program management needs with PMI-Mile Hi members and credential holders. Provided opportunities for corporations in the Denver metro area to mature in project management practices along with providing growth opportunity for PMI-Mile Hi professionals.    

Providing value to PMI Mile-Hi members in by facilitating events that focused on job search skills, such as resume writing, interview techniques, and use of LinkedIn and other social media sites.

Director Job Opportunities

Developed, implemented and managed the mentoring program for the Mile-Hi PMI chapter and its members.  

The mentoring program assisted chapter members with their growth and development in the project management profession.

Manager of Program Management - PMO

James McCoy is a highly skilled, multi-certified PMO Manager with a proven track record delivering end-to-end program and project transformations within complex national and international corporate environments. Currently, James is the PMO Manager for SSP Innovations, LLC based out of Colorado.

Before joining SSP Innovations, James was the Senior Enterprise Program Manager at FIS. He served in this role for almost 16 years. He has also been the President of the PMI Mile Hi Chapter for 2 years. Before FIS, James was the Director of International PMO, Project and Program Consultant/ Specialist at Wainscott Finch Associates and Consultant. He has served as manager of program PMO for General Electric and PMO manager for Siemens Business Services.

McCoy earned a degree in Electronics Engineering from ITT Institute. He then studied at the University of Phoenix, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He also holds a Master’s certification from the George Washington University in Project Management.
