I completed my degree in marketing before embarking on a travel adventure driving through 16 countries from the UK to Mongolia. It was not in some big 4 x 4 or particularly adequate vehicle either! I set off with one friend, one tent, $1000 in cash, a digital SLR camera and some tinned food all squashed into a Suzuki Carry van. This list should include a hikers cake made by my Nan, but to this day, she doesn't know it was left on my parents stairs, much to my dads delight. I digress... I'm sure you want to know briefly about my employment history (Yawn) I will tell you now though, its things like the journey above that make us who we are and shape our minds! Well I currently find myself out on the road as an experienced area manager, working within the textile and hospitality industry. The current role has me looking after a large geographical area with a high volume of customers. The role includes sales to existing clients and looking after retention of customers across the area. It brings its challenges especially in the recent COVID affected years! Prior to this industry I worked as a project manager within the HVAC/Plumbing and Heating arena. Looking after a team of engineers out on the road and a team of office based staff. Working on domestic and commercial projects, both breakdown and installation works. Site visits and ongoing project quoting. 2023 will hold many surprises I'm sure but I'm going to do my very best to shape it the way I want! Some things for 2023: - Build on/develop a career for the future (hopeful to move into an industry I love, fitness or otherwise) - Complete more training for myself - Visit Iceland - Get back to competitive power-lifting - Eat more cake (already started this one)
