I am a FIFA International and NIFL (Northern Ireland Football League) Premiership referee. I started refereeing at 14 and quickly progressed through the levels in Northern Ireland to reach the Premiership at 22 and then joined the FIFA list of international referees at 25. I am passionate about referee development and do various work for the Irish Football Association in supporting referee recruitment through instructing and delivering beginner courses. Furthermore, I am a coach for Referee Abroad and work at various international youth tournaments around the world. Asides from refereeing, I am also the owner of two referee-related businesses in A&H International and Touchline. A&H International is one of the longest established football referee retailers in the UK. Touchline was created in order to assist sports officials in decision-making through the use of technology. Nobody can argue that refereeing football is a difficult task and any technology that would make the job easier would clearly be hugely beneficial. The focus and scrutiny on decision-making in the officiating of any sport is becoming increasingly evident as sports teams are effectively businesses and inaccurate decisions may ultimately cost money. Although initially in the football (soccer) market, Touchline's long term ambition is to becoming a world leader in sports official technology.
