For as long as I can remember I took an interest in graphic design and social media in general. I used to make pages back on the myspace/bebo days and produced programmes and matchday graphics for football clubs since the beginning of social media! During my college days instead of taking the route of going down media/editing route I instead went with my love of sport which I regretted when coming out of college and thought my break had gone! Instead I took a job I hated in retail/warehouse work. I was under the understanding that businesses would always go with the qualified candidate when it came to running their socials and creating their graphics so instead went down the route of working on a helpdesk and progressing through the company to do engineering (going through what I thought were the motions of life!). I had always wanted to give vlogging a go not just because my interest in youtube analytics got the better of me but also because I wanted to improve my video editing skills and who better to edit than yourself? if I wasn't happy how it looked I didn't have to publish it after all! Although the lads in the workshop found the whole thing hilarious I didn't care because I knew this was me putting in the foundations of the life and career I wanted! Then the time in everyones life that turned their world upside down the dreaded virus! When I got offered the chance to take furlough and focus more of my time and energy on my passion I took it with both hands and started to craft my skills knowing that I wanted to one day own my own business helping myself, individuals and companies grow their online presence! After a few months knuckling down the dreaded call from my boss came .... "we need you back, we're low on pick units (for cash machines) and theres a higher demand now people are out and about can you come back Monday please?" I couldn't exactly say no, I didn't have the money behind me but didn't want to slip back into reality! 6 months later after listening to some inspirational podcasts from Rob Dial, a just do it approach from a James Smith book and enough money in my account to keep me afloat for 6 months I took the plungr and handed my notice in! Fast forward to now and there's been some ups and down but i'm genuinely enjoying being my own boss and helping several companies, podcasts, small companies and individuals grow their brand and ideas online and can't wait to see what the future holds and excited to grow my business into a strong reputable media company covering several aspects of the online landscape available!
