Based in Calgary, the position collaborates with internal and external stakeholders from around the world (i.e. Europe, Asia-Pacific and North/South America), requiring the ability to work in multiple languages, respect cultural sensitivities and adapt to evolving economic trends.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Create and produce original content for all Solex platforms in multiple languages, including blogs, videos news releases, case studies, landing pages, brochures and webinars.

• Adapt content for different audiences ranging from technical to commercial in the context of communicating Solex's value proposition and solidifying the organization as a thought leader.

• Manage all digital marketing channels, including strategy, execution and engagement on social media and email platforms.

• Develop, implement and manage the software that handles marketing leads and website analytics.

• Manage marketing spend to budget.

• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders including senior management, inside sales, outside sales and external marketing suppliers.

Success so far include:

• Launch of a new brand, Solex Energy Science, that featured an original brand voice/story and visual identity, new marketing collateral and global public relations strategy.

• Constructed dozens of thought leadership articles in industry magazines around the world.

• Developed and executed a ground-up annual content calendar, as well as corresponding social media and email marketing strategies.

• Launch of an in-house video production studio highlighted by: The Exchange, a roundtable series with leading industry professionals, and; Solex Connect, a monthly SME video series.

This fast-paced position was a communicator and marketing leader’s dream with the daily opportunity for innovation and creation. What did I accomplish?

• As a member of Torstar's Star Metroland Media portfolio, developed a Western Canadian Centre of Excellence for content marketing initiatives that focused on establishing strategies, best practices and new product releases for clients in industries such as education, real estate, government, finance, construction, arts and entertainment, travel and retail.
• Hands-on, concept-to-completion life cycle management of more than 100 multimedia content marketing initiatives that ranged from sponsored content, special features and social media to video and digital content hubs.
• Leveraged paid digital tactics such as social media and native advertising to extend the reach of content to clients’ relevant audiences.
• On-boarded products such as SEO-optimized writing services and experiential content.
• Collaborated with a growing network of agencies, suppliers, designers, writers, photographers and social media influencers to fulfill strategies.  

While I'm proud of all the work we accomplished, these successes stand out:

• Accountable for seven of the top 10 content revenue months in the company’s history, 
including best month of all time (October 2018).
• Ground-up social media strategy in support of Community Choice Awards in Calgary and Edmonton; overall campaign overhauls that led to 58% revenue growth in Calgary and 78% in Edmonton. 
• Complete revamp of a print and digital content strategy for the REALTORS Association of Edmonton that resulted in a high-profile, 52-week series of consumer-facing features.

Content & Innovation Specialist - Western Canada

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT)

The primary responsibility was to develop and oversee institutional communications for internal and external stakeholders that supported the achievement of SAIT’s strategic priorities as well as enhanced and protected SAIT’s reputation/brand. 

This position requires advanced experience in the strategic creation of integrated communication plans that targeted staff, faculty, students and members of public via platforms such as SAIT.ca, SAITNOW (intranet), social media, digital signage, speeches, email, graphics or printed collateral.

Further, this position created and managed institutional projects such as the Annual Report, Education Plan and Comprehensive Institutional Plan, as well as events such as town halls, convocation and employee recognition. 

Cross-organizational collaboration also created opportunities to sit on several committees, including Convocation, Policies and Procedures, Open Educational Resources, Comprehensive Institutional Planning and Office of Sustainability.

• Developing and executing creative ads, photography, videography, publications and merchandising materials, ensuring materials are aligned with the institution’s and division’s business needs and brand promise.

• Leading and consulting team and divisions and divisional marketing plans, promotions and initiatives.

• Consulting and advising on the development and execution of divisional marketing activities, ensuring content and creative supports divisional marketing plans and aligning with SAIT’s goals and brand positioning.

• Managing the creative and content team by setting objectives, measuring performance, coaching and working with Communication and Marketing management on strategic objectives.

• Member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing a 10-person department in the management of the CREBNow brand on all internal and external channels, as well as marketing  services to real estate professionals, home builders and community developers in the Calgary region.
• Raised the profile of the real estate industry through a multi-platform content strategy that included annual editorial calendars and ground-up social media and digital marketing plans. 
• Created annual business plans with measurable tactics that aligned with organizational objectives.
• Managed an annual $2 million-plus annual budget that included a $1-million-plus marketing budget.
