Outside of my professional endeavors, I enjoy giving back as a volunteer lead for Send Chinatown Love, a NYC-based organization that hosts cultural events and provides financial aid and business development services to Asian immigrant-owned stores and restaurants negatively affected by Covid-19 and 9/11. Our self-published cookbook, “Made Here,” was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award, and profiled by publications that include The New York Times, Vogue, Food Network, and Bon Appetit. I also volunteer as a mentor for Act To Change, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to address and end bullying that many AAPI youths and teens face in schools all across the USA.
