I am a dedicated professional with experience in Education, English and Maths. I am currently working in a profession that I never thought possible. I support students in Further and Higher Education to achieve their qualifications. This is a fabulous job, and the people I work with are equally as wonderful; I count myself lucky to have found such a positive work-life balance. Over time I have always strived to find jobs that have both excited and interested me. My passion is to see personal improvement in others, and this has never diminished, and I believe that I have much to offer to improve people's lives in all areas of education. I am personally dyslexic and have had a varied response to that over the years, but it is a goal for me to be able to understand it further and to pass that knowledge onto others that need to progress and have found it challenging to make employers understand what it really means. I believe that I have all the skills required from experiences of life and work to be a real asset to assisting with your future. I have experience as a personal tutor and assessor to students with learning difficulties in colleges and the Open University. I have developed strategies and diverse ways of working to ensure success. I’ve continued to expand my knowledge and experience with my own CPD so that I can keep giving my students the best experience in learning that they expect and deserve. I have now finished my Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) and updated my work with specific learning differences qualification, which I thoroughly enjoyed. In completing the research for my ATS, I was able to see how the shift from face to face to online has been significant to my students. Taking this research further, I have embarked on my Professional Doctorate with York St John's University, which I hope to complete in the next four years. In the meantime, I have had the chance to work with colleagues to get work ready for publication.
