My great passion was and still is in Sales. The only competition I ever see is with myself! I have more than three decades in sales and team leadership for Harrods and Selfridges in London, David Jones in Sydney, Clarins in Dublin, Clinique Account Manager, Brown Thomas, Dublin, Area Manager Ireland for Guerlain Fragrance and Cosmetics House and as Ireland Sales Representative for Pamex Ltd, selling ophthalmic products into Pharmacy’s and Surgeons. My other great passion is Interior Design. I have married my skills in Interior Design and Sales by looking after private clients at KA international (Store Manager) and Gavelle Interiors (Senior Interior Designer) listening to their brief, delivering their wish list and completing their projects. The sales skills and training I received in my early career have proven invaluable with the service and trust I now deliver to the customers. No matter what you sell - you are ultimately selling yourself and the efforts you put into the relationship with your customers , getting to know them. Bringing your skills, your empathy, your knowledge, your experience and solutions, and buying the trust of your customer. This cannot be underestimated and is a point often missed by individuals and sales teams. The key to producing consistently great sales is the way we interact with the customer and how we make them feel. The customer can choose to purchase the same or similar products from your many competitors - so why do they choose you? Your sales team is your greatest asset. Train, Listen, Value and Respect them. Include them in decisions and strategy discussions. Allow them to grow your business by recognising and nurturing their individual skills and talents. Do not underestimate your greatest selling tool - the power of you and your Sales team. Without Sales there is no business.
