As co-founder of Article 13, an independent, sustainability consultancy, I work with leadership teams in the private and public sector, NGOs and multi-stakeholder groups offering advisory services for context-based sustainability strategy, management, measurement and reporting. Originally a life scientist (Zoology and Botany) , with ongoing professional development including an MBA (focused on innovation), planetary boundaries, biodiversity, ecosystem services, ecological economics and population level behaviour change. I have always been passionate about the conservation of our natural world especially marine ecosystems. I deploy the combination of my professional skills and extensive network to catalyse corporate involvement in the process. I am an experienced strategist, trained facilitator, moderator and researcher. I am also a University visiting lecturer Article 13 is mission led and believes in impact-driven sustainability - starting with what the world needs to survive. Without quantifying performance within the context of what the world needs, companies risk their targets being viewed as insufficient vs. their share of responsibility. Our Project #D® methodology supports organisations in applying science-based targets, as they emerge, against their share of responsibility to Planetary Limits and apply SDG's to their share of responsibility to Social Needs. Working with a team of technical specialists, my work covers planetary boundaries, biodiversity, materiality & stakeholder engagement, risk evaluation, target setting, impact measurement, sustainability reporting and communication. Article 13 is a certified B Corp and a registered member of TNFD forum and SBTN Corporate Engagement Program. Most companies are only at the beginning of their journey living within the planetary boundaries, raising social thresholds and focusing on nature-related risks. I am currently working with forward-thinking businesses to practice trusted innovation in this sphere. Accompanied by impact measurement and risk valuation – in readiness for Science-Based Targets for Nature and Nature-related Disclosure in the context of the challenges as the planet and people react to anthropogenic risk.
