Janice began her career in banking back in May 2003 at GECU in El Paso, TX. While there she learned everything from opening checking accounts, business & complex trust accounts, too underwriting $500,000 mortgages & business loans. Working on the border with Mexico allowed her to assist businesses with asset based lending & letters of credit. After El Paso, she went to SunTrust in Warrenton, VA just outside of Washington, DC. She continued increasing her knowledge helping high net worth clients from all over the world, while becoming a Licensed Banker. When it came time for the next move, she came to Louisiana where she worked for almost 7 years at Chase as a Private Client Banker Small Business Specialist Manager on Duty, providing concierge service to her clients and mentoring her co-workers. Two of her clients wooed her away to create a Private Equity/Venture Capital Division at their company, aVeriFact. aVeriFact is a Licensed Private Detective Agency that works with national banking institutions, asset based lenders and such financial industries, providing verified facts for business deals, employee background checks, and other KYC reporting needs. She came to Merrill when another Merrill employee brought her to Merrill’s attention and the rest is history. Janice attended Columbus State University, University of South Florida and then finished her Economics degree at The University of Texas El Paso graduating Cum Laude, December 2002. She loves Economics because she views it as the root cycle of everything in life, Supply and Demand. The Principle for everything we do, but she also believes that people cannot forget to be kind. That there is ALWAYS time to be kind and caring to others. She shows this by supporting Suicide awareness, Veterans causes, and FCancer. She has met some really amazing people along the way, people who have made a lasting impact in her life and on her career. People like, Michael Ray with his Smile Project Louisville and his amazing nonverbal daughter Maddie Moo! The work that Michael does spreading love and kindness and awareness for Down syndrome will change the world. Another special person is an Afghan Veteran, Peace Corp worker, who introduced me to “Carry the Load,” a non-profit dedicated to honoring our nation’s heroes.
