That was me when I joined Avast, a Czech antivirus company, which became a unicorn years later. What was the recipe back then? No BS, just the clear vision and "get-work-done" attitude lived by the smartest people I've ever met. Scaling from 80 to 2000 employees in 5 years, it was anything but a stable corporate. From a junior Java developer working alone on one microservice, I moved to an Engineering Manager role leading multiple teams, Scrum Master, and Agile Coach, sometimes having also a Product Owner role. I've worked in startups still finding their MVP as well as corporates forgetting what was it like having the best culture out there. 🚀 My achievements: → Built a dozen high-performing trusted teams, achieving results in under 4 months. → Transformed a startup from project-based to product-focused development. → Established the first regular 2-week release cycle in Avast, building a blueprint for the whole company. → Led retrospectives at the Senior Director and C-level to solve complaints from 20+ dev teams. → Unified culturally different teams to integrate services and reduce costs by ~30%. → Implemented custom sharding for Postgres DB with terabytes of data. → Never forgot common sense & fun. 🤝 Now, I help tech startups scale beyond their MVP.
