2019 was a year where we saw new designs of devices for consumers and launches of our always highly anticipated flagship devices;  S10 and Note 10. 

2019 Objectives
◾  Conducted a workshop at our Samsung office resellers focusing on HR, Social Media, Store Design, Point of Sales systems. (Completed with 13 key resellers in attendance)
◾  Launch a 3rd Samsung Experience Store (To be completed in November)
◾  Increased Sales volume by 20%. 
◾  Increase Revenue by 13%. 
◾  Complete 3 Samsung Certificate Courses: Completed

2018 - $42MUSD in Revenue
◾  Successfully launched two dedicated Samsung Experience Kiosks in Trinidad. 
◾  December Sales surpassed that 2017 and 2016 in volume(9%) and revenue(6%)!!!

Digicel Group

Business Development Manager

Worked on increasing the revenue channels for the Indirect Retail Channel. 
Channels:
Digicel Retail Store (Standard's Grand Bazaar)
- Generated on average $40KUSD per month in revenue. 
- Achieved aggressive targets consistently missing only 2/12 months. 

Prepackaged SIMs 
- I Established key partnerships with select retail outlets thereby creating a strategic distribution channel for Digicel prepaid sim cards. 
- Worked with suppliers, marketing, print houses to ensure that all merchandise and product was done in time for launch. 
- Monitored sellout to determine supply and demand. 
- Managed an energetic team of 8 sales representatives that worked throughout these channels.

Grey Market Channel
At the start of April I received the Grey Market channel to develop. This channel was made up of 40+ dealers and represented approx. $900K in monthly revenue. 
- Built relationships with largest dealers quickly to ensure that sales levels were maintained
- Started a rationalization process to eliminate dealers that weren't profitable. 
- Provided easy opportunities for dealers to increase revenue per sale on each sim thereby increasing their profits. 

Digicel Play
- Worked with selected retail distributors regarding Digicel Play.

Indirect Retail| Retail Sales Manager

Utilizing the knowledge acquired in my previous role to review Digicel's existing and upcoming portfolio of M2M devices to develop sales strategies and opportunities for the Sales Team. 

During my three months in this position I've;
1. Grown the M2M pipeline to $10MTTD (Public and Private Sector)
2. Completed process flows for products to ensure smooth service delivery.
3. Trained Business Sales Teams on the KSP of various M2M devices in Digicel's portfolio. 

- Business and Technical Pre-Sales Consultancy for M2M Wholesale and Direct Business Sales force in engaging with customers in the business segment targeting various vertical sectors.
- Providing Business and Technical Pre-Sales Consultancy service to Business sales teams incl. areas of Technical Account Development,  Technical Sales, and Solution Design for new revenue streams. 
- Accompany Sales to customer meetings for expert business and technical knowledge of  M2M business models, technologies, products or services
- Understand customers business and suggest where M2M products and services could improve their business model and business processes. 
- Demonstrate products, services, solutions as well as business models and business benefits to  customers and to integrate into target technical and business environment.
- Liaising with customers through all M2M sales channels to maintain  strong relationships at all levels
- Work with customer to analyse and document their requirements and recommend products or solutions to fulfil their demands
- Identify where a standard product or non-standard solution is required and suitable
- Assist Delivery teams in the selection of suppliers to fulfil customer needs, specifically for non-standard or complex solutions 
- Maintain a knowledge of M2M business marketplace, follow industry trends or technical developments that may impact on the offerings in M2M

Really enjoying learning about Langston Roach's story. 

In particular growing up in the time that he did. 

His WHY.

And finally how many businesses he had before that "failed" before he found his hit. 

His mindset. 

His mother and father who inspired him. 

I think anyone that's in business should read it. 

It's history lesson in many ways. 

I'm chapter six right now and already appreciating the insights shared.

Some days really try my ability to be optimistic. 

Today was one of those days. 

I normally have small pity moments but today was an hour episode. 

I think the hot sun played a role. 

I'm grateful that I can finish off a LinkedIn profile amd then go to bed early. 

Tomorrow is a new day. 

Tomorrow is a restart.

There's one skill you should learn because AI hasn't mastered it....yet. 

And its not selling. AI has gotten good at that in many industries. 

It's building your personal brand. 

That was my opening message to student of St. Joseph Convent San Fernando this morning.

I've been wanting to tell this story for some time now and I finally get to tell it this week. 

In September 2023, I designed and delivered a training for Republic Bank that helped them surpass their Q4 target of $600MTTD! 

That training not only impacted sales but also their customer exeprience. 

So on Friday myself and Shedley Branche of RBL will share the story at exco (The Experience Company) Summit. 

Talking about how sales training impacted the customer expefience journey. 

Yesterday we met up again to go through our notes in preparation. 

Because when Sacha asked me only one company came to mind.

Most persons call me The Yellow Guy. 

Does that bother me? Nope. 

I dont care if people dont know my name. 

I care that they know what I do. 

Because they don't just say the yellow guy. 

They say, We need the Yellow Guy to come and do our sales training. 

We need the Yellow Guy to help us with our LinkedIn. 

But that isnt just brand. (I'm not an expert about that)

It is due to being consistent. 

Most persons fail to show up consistently for their potential buyers. 

I never take it for granted that being top of mind wins opportunities. 

So in order to win business one of the things we  need to do is show up consistently. 

How and how often you show up matters in today's world.

CEOs call me every week asking "Do you know any good salespeople?" The truth is they exist, but you can’t find them.

They're all "invisible."

Most sales professionals have a social media presence, but it’s not a professional one. 

They post memes, selfies, and vacation pic but nothing that says, “I’m in sales."

This irritates me alot. 

So when CEOs are looking to hire, I end up scrambling. Because even though the talent exists, it’s invisible.

If you’re in sales and job hunting or even if you’re not you need to think about visibility.

Are you on a platform where decision-makers can find you?

Are you showing up where CEOs are searching (hint, hint: LinkedIn)?

Visibility in your job search matters.

Visibility even when you’re not looking but want to know your market value...matters.

If you’re not showing up anywhere online, you're prolonging your chances of finding your next opportunity.

It doesn’t matter if a trainer works with your competitors. What matters are these three things. 

So Yes, I trained many companies....and their competitors. 

But what really matters is after the training. 

1. Did the employees starting doing the activities or did they go back to doing the same old routine. 

2. Are their supervisors regularly coaching their new behaviors so that it becomes the norm? 

and finally

3. Is the organisation's culture one where it nurtures, recognises and rewards the employee? 

If the company follows through on those three things they create a unique outcome in every company even though the trainer was the same person. 

The trainer matters but not as much as what the organisation does afterwards.

Is LinkedIn Premium worth it if you’re job hunting? 100% YES - for two key features. 

Who has viewed your profile and how you stack up versus the competition in a job posting. 

Here’s how to make it work for you.
1. You get full visibility into who’s viewing your profile for the last 90 days. 

That’s gold because if recruiters are checking you out, that’s your chance to reach out and start a conversation.

You could simply say:
“Hi [Name], I noticed you viewed my profile. I see you recruit in [industry/role]. I’d love to know if my experience aligns with anything you’re currently hiring for.”

It’s not pushy — it’s proactive.

2. You see how you rank against other job applicants.
LinkedIn tells you how many of the required skills you already match for a role.
That means you can make quick adjustments to your profile before applying, so you show up as a stronger fit when recruiters search.

Those two features alone make Premium worth it if you’re serious about your job search.

The LinkedIn Learning courses those are nice add-ons. But the real value is visibility and data.

If you’re signing up, choose the Career Plan (start with the free month, then it’s about $30 USD after).

If you’re in the middle of a job search, this is one of the few investments that actually moves the needle.

If your industry only has a handful of players, why waste time creating content? 

Influence. You create it for influence. 

Especially if there's a big brand name provider in the space, content helps you create influence. 

I was speaking with someone in the oil sector recently.

They told me that tenders always go to the same small group of providers.

Their question to me was simple: “Why should we create content? Everyone already "knows" who we are.”

Here’s the thing, content isn’t just about visibility. It’s about influence.

In every market, there’s always one main provider who dominates because they’ve built a brand that procurement teams trust.

And when those teams don’t get involved in the end process, they usually default to the brand they recognize.

So if you’re a smaller player or part of that same tender circle, your content becomes your advantage.

It tells the market, “We exist. We’re credible. We’re an option worth considering.”

And if your competitors aren’t doing it? Even better.
Because now your content isn’t competing for attention it’s creating it.

Small market or not, content builds influence.

And influence is what wins when everything else looks the same.

So small market, medium market, big market. It doesn't matter. You have to create content.

If a recruiter views your profile....what should you do? 

A. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. 
B. Ask why and if its related to the job your just applied for? 

Someone just asked me this and I wanted to share the thought process and the messaging.

There's nothing wrong with messaging a recruiter. 

Chances are you're one of the few that do. 

And it might help you stand out.

Stop feeling bad about following up and just make the call, send the email, send the DM. 

Finish the process.

Your company's internal LinkedIn training is failing.
Because it’s focused on control instead of authenticity.

I keep seeing companies say, “We want our employees to post more on LinkedIn.”

But what they really mean is, “We want them to post about the company.”

And that’s where it goes wrong.

It’s painfully obvious when a company pushes every employee to repost the same thing. 

It doesn’t build brand trust. It doesn’t make the company look like an employer of choice.

It just looks forced.

The truth is, when employees share content that’s authentic something they’ve learned, experienced, or observed, it naturally brings attention to the company. 

People see real culture. They see talent. They see the kind of professionals who work there.

So if you’re training your team to use LinkedIn, don’t just teach them to repost company updates.

Teach them how to show up as themselves.

Because authentic voices build stronger brands than any corporate campaign ever will.

If you don't have a budget to motivate your sales team start with recognition. 

A simple email from the CEO to all staff congratulating the employee if they closed a big deal. 

Bigging them up on the weekly team zoom call. 

Stopping by their desk to say great job. 

They all can make an impact. 

Recognition works and its free.  

Not everything requires money...yet.

1. Found a $1 in my jeans pocket. 
2. Got an amazing LinkedIn review from a client. 
3. Doing a sales motivational talk for a past client.

When everyone’s posting content, it can feel pointless to add your voice to the "noise."

But if you avoid posting because “everyone’s already talking about it,” you’re missing your biggest opportunity to stand out.

The truth is, most people don’t have a content problem they have a differentiation problem.

When everyone in your market is talking about the same thing what you say matters. 

So here are two simple ways to make your content stand out even when the topic isn’t unique:

1. Look and see what they're NOT saying. 
Examine their content. Most likely they're missing out or not mentioning someone important. 

2. Knowing who your ICP is and what matters to them allow you to create content that stands out. 

So take a step back. 

Observe, Analyse and Create. 

Because in a world full of content, your perspective is what people connect with not just your information.

P.S. If you haven't looked at your retirement policies or spoken to your insurance advisor do that TODAY.

As a small business you need to be ok firing non-performing employees. 

If youre a small retail business. 
And youre struggling to get your employees to sell. 
And you're doing the marketing.
And you're giving incentives.
And you've done the coaching. 
And they still haven't improved.

Its time to part ways. 

Keeping them impacts not just the sales.

But eventually the brand. 

People will start to lose trust in the brand you've built. 
Your customers aren't getting the best possible buying experience. 
You're saying that their non-performance is accepted and ok which brings everyone down. 

And yes, in T&T that may be difficult to do sometimes but its necessary for your business to survive. 

It's a difficult part of the business but a necessary part of the business especially when it comes to sales performance.

Pipeline not anywhere close to your quota? You're looking at it wondering "How am I going to achieve it?" 

Don't panic. Here's what to do...

- Refine your ICP.
- Use tools like Lusha and others to get you pite tial leads. 
- Pic up the phone and call them.
- Run email campaigns using hubspot or mailchimp or Apollo 

10X what works. 
Adjust or dump what doesn't. 

And over time your pipeline will get tall like  Victor Wembanyama. (Guy in the video)
