Jas Rawlinson is a best-selling author, award-nominated book coach and resilience speaker who specialises in stories that change lives. Combining her lived experience as a domestic violence survivor, with her BA in creative writing and psychology, she has helped close to 30 writers to go from 'idea' to 'published' in the past four years, and has impacted hundreds of thousands of lives through global media outlets, including Business Insider, Yahoo Finance, news.com.au, New Idea, Mamamia, and Authority Magazine. She is also the founder of Brisbane's first domestic violence memorial, and an anti-human trafficking ambassador. Endorsed by high-profile names including Kevin Hines, Lifeline and Livin, Jas speaks regularly on issues such as domestic violence and suicide prevention, and this year, starred on the award-winning TV series 'Adventure All Stars' as part of her mission to end child trafficking. 'Thoughts From Jas' was originally started as a way to explore my passion for writing, but has grown into a blog I am very proud of. 

Dedicated to growing awareness of important social issues such as human trafficking, domestic violence, lifestyle, and human right's issues, my blog has been viewed all around the world. 

Achievements:
2016
* My article, 'Do you think we'll pay for bad things we've done: surprising revelations from Australian sex tourists,' received 90,000 views in its first 4 hours, and shot to number one on Newscorp. 
* My article 'It's Not Enough To Just Rescue The Victims,' jumped to number one on newscorp's website, and resulted in over $7000 in donations for Project Karma, an organisation who investigate child exploitation in South East Asia, rescue children, shut down pedophile rings, and empower local government/police to better respond to human trafficking in their cities. 

2017: 
* A ghostwritten article I wrote of the life story of Michael Crossland (Inspirational speaker and childhood cancer survivor), achieved number one status on Newscorp's website, and resulted in over 120,000 views in 2 days ('24 kids died, only I survived'). 
* I released my first book, 'Reasons To Live One More Day, Every Day,' which is a collection of memoirs from Australians who have battled, and triumphed over, adversity.

As the Managing Editor, I am responsible for overseeing the production of the company's quarterly magazine from start to finish. Responsibilities include assigning content to the editorial team, thoroughly editing and proofing all submitted articles, ghostwriting content for the CEO, and liaising with the Graphic design team. 

In my role as the Digital and Social Content Writer, I am responsible for writing weekly blogs for multiple internal websites, along with content for external blogs. Other responsibilities include:

Brisbane's First Domestic Violence Memorial

Since finishing up with my previous position (made redundant in November) I have been working on a personal project, to create and install Brisbane’s first dedicated Domestic Violence Memorial. This project has required many different skills, from writing project pitches and sending them to the Lord Mayor’s office, to liaising with Council, organising permits and locations, crowd funding, promoting the event across all social media channels, conducting media interviews, creating engaging online posts and videos for supporters/followers, requesting quotes, communicating with survivors and advocates of Domestic Violence, organising speakers and ensuring the smooth running of the event. Through my successful organisation and advocacy, the project exceeded its fundraising goal, and was successfully launched in March.
