Jason DiBiase, BSHS, RHIT is the Supervisor of Outpatient coding for Franciscan Health, a 14-hospital healthcare system. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a registered health information technician, and is a credentialed Epic software trainer. He started his healthcare career on the clinical side as a respiratory therapist, and then transitioned into coding and leadership within the HIM field. He has worked in various leadership positions throughout the nation, and has successfully led Coding, Transcription, Release of Information, CDI and Medical Records departments. He has also been a featured speaker at local professional conventions. Jason has been the point of contact for HIPAA incidents involving HIM departments, led Quality Initiative Committees, and has been the leader of physician education boards for timely issues involving coding guidelines and federal mandates. He has also served as an adjunct professor, teaching coding and related HIM courses. While creating and implementing policies and procedures for various hospital systems, Jason has worked closely with CFOs, CMOs and CQOs throughout his career and has helped formulate action plans in accordance to HFAP and JCACO findings. Jason’s passion is transforming struggling teams into engaged, happy and productive employees. He is committed to growth, and is always looking for better ways to improve his skillsets. He is involved in his community and volunteers for organizations such as Family Promise and Habitat for Humanity.
