As a community-economic development oriented tech builder, I am passionate about helping communities develop partnerships, strategies, and programs focused on creating economic opportunity. When I worked with non-profits, city governments, and Fortune 500 companies, it became clear that using data and technology is crucial to improving decision making processes in economic development. I began my career in the software industry helping Fortune 500 companies in manufacturing increase their production efficiency resulting in higher revenue and job creation. Using my professional degree in City & Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania concentrating in economic development, I developed a toolkit of strategies and techniques focused around designing, tracking, and evaluating programs for local government and communities. I have always been fascinated by economic development, especially the labor market and how job preferences and the skills in demand have significantly changed over-time. Today, there is a greater need to focus on workforce development opportunities around upskilling and reskilling. As a community tech builder, I plan to use my skills and passion for building programs and tools to support workforce development initiatives leading to economic development in the future.
