• Launched #DitchTheDisk, a guerrilla marketing campaign that resulted in a collaborative industry workgroup, articles, and bylines, and positioned Ambra as the defacto platform to eliminate CDs from radiology.

I've been on acquire.com for a few months now, and I've noticed a recent trend, which I think has to do with LinkedIn and AI.

🔍 Insight: A significant number of small data providers are currently listing themselves for sale on Acquire. A common thread among these companies is their reliance on social media data—particularly from LinkedIn, which has historically been a reliable source for up-to-date employment information.

🔄 Recent Changes at LinkedIn: The platform recently restricted the visibility of work history on its public profiles. This adjustment means that the information visible to logged-out users and crawling bots has diminished significantly.

🛡️ Motivation Behind the Change: Why would LinkedIn restrict access to such valuable data? 

Could it be:
1. The protection of user information.
2. The safeguarding of LinkedIn's most valuable asset, user data.

High-quality, real-time employment data is a crucial resource for contact data providers, especially those offering services like job change notifications and AI-driven personalization. By limiting access, LinkedIn might be aiming to control the proliferation of its data and ensure it is not used without proper authorization or payment.

🔮 The Broader Impact: LinkedIn's strategy may be having a ripple effect, prompting smaller data providers, ones unable to find new sources, to seek exits before the full impact of these changes becomes evident to the market. As these providers' data becomes less current and comprehensive, their value proposition could diminish, making a timely sale a strategic move.
