Manage National Conventional underwriting for new correspondent loan platform.
Direct and provide leadership, support and guidance to a team of underwriters, processors and support staff to include driving productivity, performance planning, goal setting, staff development, quality, and customer satisfaction.  Manage all personnel matters to include interviewing, hiring, performance, counseling, training, and termination.
•	Interpret and implement underwriting guidelines for Correspondent loans. 
•	Develop performance plans used to drive the achievement of monthly and annual goals. 
•	Facilitate the training, mentoring and guidance of subordinates through goal-setting, delegation,       training, counseling and performance management; ensure staff members are adequately trained in program guidelines, new programs and industry underwriting practices.
•	Underwrite and review submitted files to analyze for capacity, capital, character and condition; ensure loan requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate.
•	Partner with other departments in the design, development, and implementation of products, programs, initiatives, policies, procedures and guidelines.
•	Confer with processors, mortgage bankers, and National Sales Managers to answer general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files.
•	Act as primary contact regarding underwriting issues; provide input in the development of best practices.
•	Work closely with the operations director to evaluate performance and organizational trends.
•	Review closed loans to ensure underwriting compliance to agency, investor and company guidelines.
•	Continuously enhance processes and procedures to ensure application of best practices and maximize staff utilization.

Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving and underwriting large, unusual or complex individual consumer requests and products within company and industry guidelines.  
Reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and applicable ratios(i.e. Debt ratios, loan-to-value). 
Evaluating & examining transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
Preparing formal reports for review. 
Ensuring that documents are consistent and uphold to company and industry guidelines. 
Implementing fraud detection techniques, performing compliance reviews. 
Assisting with re-negotiations of loans based on lending guidelines. 
Contacting customers and partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions, explain rationale behind credit decision. 
May provide work direction and/or training to lower level team members and provide performance feedback to supervisor/manager.

Examine residential loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards; review/audit loans reviewed/approved by underwriters.
Evaluate credit decisions for accuracy based upon established risk parameters and in accordance with policy, program, and product guidelines.
Initiate the examination of several different types of lending; conventional, government-backed, and home equity. 
Respond to company, individual, and investor audits. 
Assist with fraud detection and prevention processes and procedures.
