Hi! Texas math educator in sales because I love seeing those lightbulb moments for students and teachers. Math. There is more than one recipe or route to get the right answer, and there is more to math than the right answer. Math is about the how and why. It is about the strategies students use. We tap into how students learn, how they show what they know, and then we build their confidence and efficiency. Many of your peers like how we visually build conceptual understanding. Reading. Something spiked the radar in 4th grade at one school and then 5th grade at another school. I was an A/B student so it was a surprise to be put with the slow readers. Turns out I'm in the 30% of A/B honor students that did not know I had the #hiddenhurdle of low silent reading fluency. It took me so long to read. So tiring. It was not until late 2021 do I learn that my reading could have been better if worked on. It could have matched my speaking speed. We'll grow #confidentreaders.
