Last week Antoine Simon and this week Jackie Janssen mentioned the MIT AI report:
→ 95% of all AI projects fail.

And it reminded me of a 2018 Harvard Business Review article saying the same 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗥𝗠.
Different time, a hot topic and the same problem.

When we talk with brands, we see it too:
👉 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 10% 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 truly use their CRM and email capabilities to their full potential. (With CDP’s it’s probably even less)

The Martech for 2025 report by Scott Brinker and Frans Riemersma confirms why. Technology keeps accelerating, but organizations don’t evolve at the same pace. = 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝘄

They fail on 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, and 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹:
↳ It’s not about making it look good.
↳ It’s about making it work for the reader.
↳ Grabbing attention and stearing that attention
↳ So that a message is conveyed or action will be taken

An email without good & clear design is like a TikTok video that doesn’t grab you in the first 2 seconds…

Swipe, and it’s gone.

In early cinema, friction (money, gear, distribution) kept the funnel small. The barrier to entry meant less content, but higher average quality.

YouTube removed some friction. TikTok removed more.

Sora removes it all. No camera. No editing. No skill. Just type and click.

When the barrier to create becomes zero, does the value of creation become zero too?

→ When content becomes so abundant. Trust & attention become scarce.
