Business Development Specialist - ASC

Responsible for strategically planning and implementing outreach efforts focusing on physicians, community
groups, and other potential referral sources in the hospital's target markets.

Primarily focused on developing and improving hospital referral relationships with physicians in the service area,
with the goal of maximizing referral and redirection opportunities for both inpatient and outpatient services.

Responsible for strategically planning and implementing visits to physicians, physician office staffs and other
potential referral sources throughout the primary and secondary markets.

Emphasize sales objectives based on market assessments and physician needs, as well as oversee the maintenance
of good account relationships and the development and implementation of innovative selling ideas and methodologies.

Collaborate with Strategic Planning, Marketing and Service Line Directors to communicate hospital services to
the referring physicians. Lead liaison for Surgery, Orthopedics and Women and Children’s Service Lines.

Conduct on-going referral analysis to identify loyal physicians and splitter physicians for all service lines with
focused concentration on annual business initiatives through geographic, splitting, profitability and qualitative assessments
Introduce and promote physician specialists to community physicians for increased referrals.

Identify and resolve service delivery problems to improve physician satisfaction and patient experience.

Foster professional relations between outlying community physicians and hospital medical staff to facilitate patient access to specific programs and services.

Physician Liaison Business Development

Responsible for the strategic planning and program development of the Virtua Child Care Center (CDC). (CDC is a preschool for children of Virtua Health employees.)   Oversight of the application and implementation of established policies.  Established and maintained parent satisfaction surveys and establishes goals based on the results.  Oversaw the supervision of CDC staff and implementation of curriculum.  Monitored all CDC business financial reports and functions.
Created a customer service culture throughout the center. Modeled appropriate and proactive customer service
activities such as greeting parents, addressing concerns, monthly newsletter, quarterly parent meetings, daily e- mail communication, etc.
Managed all staff development functions effectively and promotes staff development. Ensured all employee performance reviews and completes and works with staff to correct deficits. Recruited and oriented new staff
Achieved and renewed NAEYC accreditation. Established and maintained a healthy, safe and fun environment for all children and staff. CDC achieved NAEYC accreditation in December of 2012. This was a culmination of two years’ worth of preparation and work.
Financial management oversight including budgeting, expense control and tuition collection. Provided financial statements regularly to Finance Department regarding FTE numbers. Approved and ordered materials and supplies for classroom programs and activities
Total cost per child FTE $9,994.47 vs. budget of $10,816.25 (2012). Controlled budget and flexed expenses to keep in line with lower volume
