The role of the Mission Success Officer (MSO) is to build and cultivate strong relationships with ministry partners that lead to longer term partnerships and deepened engagement with the EC’s model. The MSO will also leverage rapport with current partners to generate solid referrals for expansion.

Moving Body and Soul, LLC

In collaboration with my wife Carolyn, we formed this LLC for the purpose of inspiring physical, spiritual, and missional fitness. Current activities include:
- Speaking, preaching, writing, and conducting inspirational concerts and missions.
- Promoting John's book "Streetwalking with Jesus: Reaching Out in Justice and Mercy"
- Promoting Carolyn's music through www.greenchoby.com and her new individualized commissioned song writing that we call a "Gift of Song". 
- Inspiring a healthy physical lifestyle through online fitness coaching and the website www.fitwithcarolyn.com
- Consulting with individuals and organizations looking to bridge communities of need and communities of resource.
- Developing Cafe O Play, an indoor playground and coffeehouse in the Stow OH community.

I envisioned, devised, and established the first indoor play cafe within the Akron/Cleveland market—capturing approximately 31K visits a year. I also: 

>> Trained, managed, and empowered team of 25+ top-performing employees
>> Earned recognition as an award-winning business from multiple online parenting resources including NEO Parents Magazine, Hulafrog, and Macaroni Kids
>> Built advantageous and sustainable relationships with diverse groups of vendors, community members, and customers
>> Provided consulting services to a wide range of indoor play space owners around the country.

In this leadership role, I served as the primary point of contact for community concerns, and promptly addressed all inquiries from our advisory board members. My key contributions in this position include: 

>> Orchestrated much-needed $400K capital improvements to a camp facility
>> Led 70+ staff through a challenging organizational identity transition
>> Forged powerful relationships, networks, and partnerships with funders, community business leaders, and other nonprofits organizations

Emmaus Ministries

I established this ecumenical outreach organization to support and help men across the city of Chicago trapped in trafficking, prostitution, and survival sex. To this end, I led operational oversight of community relations, fundraising volunteer staffing, and scheduling. I also: 

>> Grew this organization from an all volunteer effort to eventually an annual budget of $1M, 24 staff members, 64 volunteers across two cities; raised $8M+ during my tenure and positively affected the lives of thousands of homeless young 
>> Produced and managed the organization’s budget, coordinated fundraising, and directed participants 
>> Built a powerful Board of Directors; forged effective collaboration with business partners, foundations, and churches to create organizational identity and secure funding for a challenging mission  
>> Orchestrated successful transition (as Founder) to new leadership
