Having concluded a 33-year national security career with the U.S. Federal Government in April 2022 as a Senior Executive within the U.S. Intelligence Community’s (IC) Senior Intelligence Service, Jonathan "Jon" Rice is pursuing private sector opportunities that leverage the deep expertise he developed over his public service career and harness his passion for investing in innovation and developing emerging technology for a better future. Since entering the private sector and building on his experience as an avid Angel Investor, Jon founded and serves as CEO of Intbox Ventures, LLC (DBA IntboxCo), which provides strategic advisory services to startups to accelerate and expand their businesses and advances VC investments in its portfolio of cutting-edge emerging tech and innovation startups. In this vein, in addition to syndicating SPV investments, Jon co-founded and works as Chief Administrative Officer of aerospace manufacturer 4th Planet Propulsion, LLC (www.4thplanetpropulsion.com). He additionally has served as an Advisory Board Member for an innovative stealth-mode startup addressing national security challenges. While in the IC, Jon applied his broad experience consistently driving outcomes responsive to U.S. policy and national security interests in a range of leadership roles. He had an established record of effectively envisioning and executing strategic outcomes; fostering, developing, and managing complex bilateral and multilateral relationships; leading through complex change; advancing difficult negotiations; and forming and developing high-impact teams that optimize incumbent opportunities and successfully address the most complex challenges. Through his combined IC experiences, and earlier in his government career at the Department of State, Jon has developed well-honed cross-cultural leadership skills and international relations experience through expansive dealings with foreign interlocutors across the Western Hemisphere, Middle East, Europe, and Africa. He has a strong track record of managing and leading cross-functional teams; leading and overseeing large-scale, dispersed operating elements; and successfully advancing strategic goals, managing risk, and executing large budgets in support of expansive U.S. Government strategic programs. With drone airspace awareness startup SkySafe, Inc. (www.skysafe.io) he successfully pursued a seven-figure strategic government capture initiative which portends eight-figure ARR in the out-years.
