James D. Sheehan's Linkedin Analytics

I'm a chemical engineering faculty advancing research to expand circular and bio-based chemical economies. My research interests focus on evaluating chemical kinetics, transport, and interfacial phenomena of valorizing bio-derived and waste feedstocks into value-added chemicals and materials. My active areas of research include supercritical fabrication of engineered bio-composites, interfacial phenomena of natural polymers, sustainable packaging and films, lignin-first biorefining, and polymer upcycling. My teaching experiences include transport phenomena (mass, energy, and momentum conservation) and electives on principles of green chemistry and sustainability in engineering.
