Our team has a focused direction to effectively, efficiently and safely locate and capture violent offenders.  It is strongly believed by Law Enforcement professionals, that by truly focusing on the most violent offenders in our community, specifically those who have already committed crimes against children, violence against others, weapons violations, and sexual offenders, that we will have a meaningful impact improving public safety and reducing violent crime from reoccurring.  Our team members are cross-commissioned as Special Deputies with the US Marshal’s Service.  Deputies work directly with our agency partners from the US Marshal’s, Wa. St. Dept. of Corrections, Everett Police, Arlington Police and Lake Stevens Police.

Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force / Directed Patrol

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and other law enforcement agencies investigate allegations of child neglect, physical abuse, and sexual abuse received from both mandatory reporters and the public-at-large. Officers and Detectives discuss difficult cases with members of the multi-disciplinary team and coordinate investigations with other participating agencies to ensure that system trauma is eliminated or minimized. Law enforcement refers criminal cases to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of charges. While only the Special Investigations Unit is located at Dawson Place, law enforcement agencies throughout the county utilize the facilities of Dawson Place.
