The Carter Center

Served on 40-member delegation assessing adherence to electoral laws during the elections that resulted in the re-election of Nobel laureate Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Election observer

Participated in drafting of pre-election and post-election public statements released by The Carter Center concerning the 2010 election that returned Guinea from military to civilian rule. Coordinated all aspects of security, reporting, logistics, communication, transportation, and accommodation for eight long-term and 30 short-term election observers.

Election observer coordinator

Developed a community legal advice program in partnership with a local human rights group, scaling up to near-national scope in eight months and increasing average caseload by 900 percent in 15 months. Represented The Carter Center in two-member assessment missions to Guinea and Sierra Leone that included meetings with heads of diplomatic missions.

Field office manager

I ran a field office in southeastern Liberia to support the 2005 general elections, which transitioned Liberia out of interim governance and to representative democracy.

Democracy resource officer

I devote my entire practice to the administration of decedents' estates in North Carolina, with a particular focus on estates subject to litigation and estates pursuing wrongful-death lawsuits.
