The one constant throughout my career in Information Technology has been leading organizational changes; systems, behaviors, activities, and habits from the current state to the future state. And I'm still learning new things about change every day! I've worn numerous hats, here's a few: 🎯 Navigator: Delivered change through projects, with a collaborative, open, and supportive approach. 🎯 Connector: Translated between business and technical teams to reach our goals. 🎯 Facilitator: Guided diverse teams through structured conversation to leverage everyone's strengths. 🎯 Leader: Building people through encouragement, support, and coaching. Over my career, I have learned the following key lessons about managing change: 💡 Involve the right people early and often. The ones doing the work. 💡 Identify the true real problem before designing a solution. 💡 Look at everything through the lens of people, process, tools. Not just one of these. 💡 Change management begins BEFORE the project & ends AFTER full change adoption. 💡 Resistance to change is often a sign the plan or plan delivery was not successful. 💡 Listen more than you speak and be empathetic. 💡 Strive to be trustworthy.
