Activities included reporting to Brussels on latest political developments at the Security Council and the General Assembly, assisting with the drafting of EU-statements; and analyzing background material on Afghanistan, Somalia and the DRC.

As a junior advisor (may-aug) I took an active role in strategy development and lobbying activities of the joint NGO network with members of the House of Representatives and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among others, members of the joint NGO network include Amnesty International and Cordaid.

Intern (nov-may) at the Department of Multilateral Organizations and Human Rights. In addition to supporting Senior Policy Officer Jochem de Groot on Internet Freedom, I initiated, constructed and led the citizen participation platform for the policy paper of Minister of Foreign Affairs Frans Timmermans. This unique consultation process was considered a great success.
