Jennifer Gebelein, Ph.D.'s Linkedin Analytics

As the Director of Academic Initiatives for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs and a Research Professor at Florida International University, I have 23+ years of experience in leading and supporting online program development, pedagogical innovation, and student success in higher education. I am passionate about applying 21st Century Skills with a creative combination of the "4 Cs" (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) to adaptive learning styles in the educational sphere. I have successfully integrated 21st Century Skills into FIU's First Year Experience course, co-led the structural and content-driven redesign of the course, and mentored hundreds of faculty and staff in online technology and best practices. I have also significantly increased the number of fully online programs in the College of Arts, Science and Education, and worked with various units throughout FIU to keep them abreast of changes and policies impacting online, hybrid and in-person education. Additionally, I have led a team of programmers, graphic artists, and students to design immersive learning experiences for technology-assisted learning in mixed reality gaming environments. My mission is to proactively engage, retain, and encourage student progression and achievements with cutting-edge approaches and tools.
