As Chair, I am responsible for bringing together men and women of all ages as contributors to national growth and societal unity, through the eradication of gender bias, discrimination and abuse in our communities, in sports, across institutions and workplaces, with a promise to: 📢 Speak up. Speak out. Act.📢

While this group is targeting men of all ages to get more involved as active advocates for gender equality, it is open to all, with stated aims of :

✅ Supporting and working towards achieving equal rights, opportunities, and treatment for all genders; and the benefits arising. 

✅ Challenging, educating, promoting and improving overall gender equality. 

✅ Challenging toxic machismo and misogyny through advocating for policies that promote gender equality and equity; 

✅ Speaking out against sexism, gender-based violence, abuse and violence against women & girls (VAWG) and other gender-based discrimination

✅ Acting at governmental level, in our communities, in our workplaces, on the terraces and with families

Bridging the gender divide around boardroom tables and in our c-suites / leadership pipelines needs to start with action. We all need to give a little to gain. 

📢This year International Women’s Day provides a stark reminder that, despite the world having transformed in many ways, in terms of gender diversity, we still have a long way to go to balance the scales. 

❗To do this, we must move beyond merely talking and act. Especially as men, being better and more meaningful partners in gender equality. 

Why? Because the benefits are proven and, frankly, why wouldn’t we want a more diverse, inclusive workforce for the ever-evolving needs of the modern workplace?! 
 
💡Profitability & Growth: Top-quartile companies for gender diversity are 39% more likely to outperform on profitability, and companies with diverse management teams report 19% higher innovation-driven revenue. https://lnkd.in/gr9rfFNF (Jan 2026)

💡ROI: According to McKinsey, companies with over 20% women in management saw 2.04% higher cash flow returns on investment. https://lnkd.in/giGd3iVe

🤔What am I doing about it? I am actively involved in promoting male allyship (and female allyship) as crucial components of workplace inclusion and gender equality. (And of course in our schools, communities and homes).  

With Universal Peace Federation UK we have initiated a group called MAGE - Men Advocating Gender Equality

💡We believe that the first step in addressing this issue, as men, is to ask ourselves, “What are we doing to help address gender inequality in all areas of life and work?” 

This is an important step for changing established norms and partnering more effectively with women everywhere. 

This International Women’s Day we all have a role to play in accelerating action. We can all give a little to gain a lot when we compound our words and deeds.
