As Vice President of Marketing at A_SHOC Energy, distributed by Keurig Dr. Pepper, I was responsible for leveraging multiple marketing tactics (paid, earned, owned) for nationwide brand recognition and growth resulting in 20% MOM revenue growth. Managed $60 Million paid media budget and assumed full P&L responsibility. 

My responsibilities were diverse, including:

1) Strategic Distribution Channel Identification & Execution: Pinpointing and leveraging optimal channels for product distribution. IE: 7-Eleven, Target, Kroger, Amazon, etc.. 

2) External Partner Management: Cultivating and managing relationships with partners to amplify our marketing efforts. IE: Influencers, Ambassadors, Events

3) Performance Marketing: Leveraging paid media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, CTV, Google, Programmatic, Out-of-Home) to boost brand awareness and drive direct response revenue. 

5) Organic Social Media Calendar Management: Curating content and scheduling posts to maintain engagement and brand presence.

6) Web Development Oversight: Ensuring our website offers a seamless user experience, aligns with our brand, and serves our marketing goals.

7) SEO Optimization: Implementing SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and visibility.

8) Analytics and Performance Tracking: Utilizing analytics to track performance, inform strategy adjustments, and measure success against established KPIs and objectives.

The hardest part of building a startup isn’t the product. It’s belief.

Not belief in the idea.

Belief in yourself on the days you still have to choose a direction without knowing if it’s the right one.

You’re deciding what to prioritize, what to cut, and what to live with.

You’re saying no to things that feel promising and yes to things that feel incomplete.

And you’re doing it knowing the consequences land on you either way.

You just carry it and keep moving.

The hardest part of building a startup isn’t the product. It’s belief.

Not belief in the idea.

Belief in yourself on the days nothing proves you’re right.

You’re still making decisions without clear signals.
Still choosing a direction without knowing how it’s going to play out.
Still carrying the responsibility even when the outcome isn’t obvious yet.

That mental weight doesn’t really go away.

You just learn how to move with it instead of waiting for certainty.

Brands say they want influencer marketing to scale. This is where it usually breaks.

These are the conversations we’re having with brands right now.

Everyone agrees creators belong in the media mix.

The real tension is whether creator marketing is allowed to be a serious growth channel, or if it stays protected from accountability once scale enters the picture.

Most teams aren’t stuck on strategy. They’re stuck with tooling that was never built for conversion, learning, or iteration at volume.

That gap is exactly why ChannelCore for brands exists. If creator spend is real spend, it deserves real infrastructure.

So here’s the question: when influencer becomes a meaningful line item, should it still be treated differently than the rest of the media mix?

Wrong question.

We kept creator budgets small for years because we couldn't prove direct attribution.
Then we stopped trying.
Instead, we treated creators exactly like demand creation ads that convert downstream, rather than relying on last-click magic.

What changed in Q4:
1. Moved budget from ads to creator partnerships
2. Went from 100 to 150 active creators
3. Launched in France, Germany, and Spain with native creators
5. 4x'd our impressions and saw an immediate lift in new markets

Three things that actually move the needle for you:
1. Stop calling it "influencer budget"
Call it what it is: media mix. Creators compete with ads for dollars, not with your swag budget.
2. Local creators beat translated content every time
We didn't localize our campaigns. We found French creators for France, German creators for Germany. The authenticity difference is massive.
3. Measure contribution, not conversion

I'm hitting reset on how I talk about what we're building, because this might be the clearest I've been able to explain ChannelCore and why it matters.

Creators don't need more motivation. 
Brands don't need access to more creators.

What the industry actually needs is infrastructure that works.

That's what I'm building at ChannelCore, and I'm sharing what I'm learning as we go.

One of the biggest mistakes I made as an early founder was trusting people too early.

Not because people had bad intentions.

Because I skipped validation steps I should have insisted on.
I wanted momentum and assumed alignment.
That trade rarely works long term.

Slowing down early has been one of the most important leadership lessons so far.

Here’s what I’m seeing after building inside the creator economy.

For years, it’s been driven by guesswork.
Brands guessing who to work with.
Creators guessing their rates.
Everyone hoping the results justify the spend.

That doesn’t scale.

Follower counts and aesthetics don’t predict performance.
Audience alignment and data do.
Data that actually shows what’s working and why.

And that shift is already underway.
And it’s exactly why I built ChannelCore.

The creators and brands who stop guessing are the ones who will win the next decade.

Follower count tells you how loud someone is. 

It doesn’t tell you who listens.

A lot of creator marketing decisions are made out of fear.

Creators worry that if they ask for more money, the deal will disappear.

Brands worry that if they pick the wrong creator, they’ll waste their budget.

The brand still spends the money, but confidence is low the whole way through.

I’ve seen this from both sides, being on the brand side and working directly with creators. 

When that same tension keeps showing up, you start questioning why it still works this way.
