Rocket Door Frames are a Grantham based company selling products nationally to the builder/construction/architect industries.

I am responsible for marketing activities including our website, writing and proofreading creative copy for print and online content, creating and positioning print ads in national magazines. It also includes creating new brochures, the design and organise stands for national exhibitions, social media, SEO and Google ads and analytics.

Marketing Communications Specialist

London Internet Exchange (LINX)

A varied position that allows me to play to my strengths in marketing, graphic design, events, and communications. 

Responsibilities include:
•	Organisation, design, and production of printed and online marketing collateral
•	Edit and co-ordinated the production and distribution of the LINX online newsletter (1750 subscribers)
•	Copywrite and research for company press releases, case studies, online blogs, and articles
•	Co-organise of LINX membership events of up to 200 people. This requires me to oversee the creation of agendas, liaise and interview conference speakers, as well as act as event photographer and host at evening socials
•	Prepare marketing plans for LINX products and services
•	Write reports featuring analysis on marketing activities against KPIs
•	Update and maintain website pages and share stats and content on social media
•	Field calls on PR matters from journalists and other interested parties
•	PowerPoint presentation and video production and editing
•	Using an Agile based project management framework to prioritise daily and longer-term tasks

Key Achievements:
•	Chaired many member conferences and training seminars
•	Project managed an animated video for a financial services product
•	Established LINX presence early on social media platforms 

Another key part of my role at LINX was to advise on internal and external corporate identity usage to ensure the integrity of the brand is maintained with prospects, members and partners. 

Responsibilities include:
•	Own brand manual and branding architecture including logo and image gallery repositories
•	Own creative development including production of basic templates for use by staff 
•	Produce go to market and strategy plans covering design, budgets, and production schedule

Senior Marketing & Communications Executive

Host, content creator and editor for the LINX podcast. As well as fronting the show the role involves recording and interviewing telecoms industry guests, editing and post-production of material including sharing via podcasting platforms.
Responsibilities include:
•	Manage planning, recording and production of LINX’s podcast, LINXcast
•	Interviewing telecoms professionals and editing previously recorded material for broadcast 
•	Arrange distribution and delivery of the podcast across major podcast platforms 
Key Achievements:
•	LINXcast reached #121 in the GB Technology chart on Apple Podcasts in its first month
•	1250+ unique downloads from 45 different territories

LINX Podcast Host (LINXcast)

Part of my role is to conduct, record, and edit tutorials and interviews with telecoms industry professionals on behalf of LINX. I have presented features on location at international conferences in the Middle East and Central America, discussed topics such as artificial intelligence with the CEO of a leading UK ISP, as well as run a series of face-to-face interviews with colleagues on the subject of women in technology. I have also fronted an interview on Zoom on organising events during the COVID-19 lockdown as well as host an interactive quiz for the regional Internet exchange, LINX Manchester.

Video Producer

Responsibilities included:
•	Manage planning and production of the company’s quarterly member news magazine, HotLINX
•	Write articles, source, and edit of copy, interviewing, layout design
•	Arrange online distribution and delivery of printed copies to over 70 countries worldwide 

Since taking over the production of HotLINX the publication grew from an eight-page occasional newsletter to a magazine of up to 24 pages. Circulation reached 1200 copies with a similar number downloaded from the LINX website in the 12 months following issue launch.

This role involves the co-organisation of events for the LINX Manchester exchange include training programmes on topics such as BGP and DNS as well as hosting and presenting at regional conferences when required.

Peterborough FM - Community Radio

Peterborough FM delivered radio training since it began in 2007. Completion of the course was compulsory for all new volunteers wishing to produce a show or present on-air and I completed this in October 2011. During my time on the station I made over 150 live broadcasts, including a DJ set at the Willow Festival in July 2012 and 2014. A number of live guests have been interviewed including Brian Nash of 80s group, Frankie goes to Hollywood.

Originally a one man one hour show focussing on 80s and 90s electronic and guitar pop on Thursday evenings this evolved into a weekly two-hour Saturday evening entertainment show. After a break this became a fortnightly Saturday morning show with two co-presenters with quizzes, local events promotion and other features.

When the station merged with Radio Peterborough in April 2016 under the name of PCR (Peterborough Community Radio) I decided to take a break though I still occasionally broadcast via the online radio station A1 Radio.

Countrywide Insurance Marketing (Misys Insurance Management)

Responsibilities included:
•	Oversee and organise all print requirements including the design and sub-editing of the company’s news magazine ‘Interface’
•	Liaison with partner insurers and insurance brokers in the creation of a range of marketing collateral including direct mail and window displays

Key Achievement:
I designed the branding of the 2002 Countrywide conference at the ICC in Birmingham with all event literature, promotional materials and stage graphics based on my artwork. Another role at this event was to act as a chaperone for the celebrity speaker, newscaster Jon Snow.

Other tasks included e-commerce research projects and the co-organisation of external events.

Graphic Designer / Marketing Executive

Thomas Cook Group (Design Studio)

Tasks included the design of all types of print work from newspaper ads to instore displays to implementing general marketing activity and co-organising national roadshow events. I was also required to oversee the effective running of the design studio facility in the absence of management.

Graphic Designer

This role involved the set up and maintenance of Thomas Cook screens used on the award winning BT television home shopping trial. I also designed internet banners and pages for an on-line European travel booking system.

Interactive TV Project Analyst (secondment)

In this position I was required to ensure that remittances returned to Head Office from Thomas Cook branches across the world balanced with the attached encashed travellers cheques.

Initially only a summer position, this role involved assisting customers and insurance brokers, primarily over the telephone, in all aspects of insurance payable by instalments.
