The tale of a leopard, the Impala lamb and a Hyena. 

This leopard was literally "playing" with her food before killing it (it's quite common when the prey is nearly defenseless like this Impala lamb), when a hyena walked by. 

I've read that they will do this in hopes that the lamb cries out for the mother and the cat can get two-for-one deal. 

Wild 😳!! 


There is an African Proverb that says, "The rain wets the leopard's spots but does not wash them off" : 

People can present different aspects of themselves in various situations. 

Even if someone tries to appear different, their true nature will eventually show through.

A few years ago, a friend of mine was struggling with his studies. Instead of giving him advice or telling him what he should do, 

I simply told him about some of the struggles I had with my studies in the past that I believed were similar. The goal wasn’t to force him to do what I did. 

I was simply sharing my experience. And if it was useful to him in any way, he could use it. If not, that’s fine too.

Because when done that way, our stories carry value outside of ourselves. It’s not me giving him advice. It’s my experience lending perspective to his experience. 

But ultimately, we are each only capable of changing ourselves.

People don't change unless they want to. 

As much as you want the best for others, you just can't force people to change. 

You can inspire them to change. You can educate them towards change. You can support them in their change.

But you can’t force them to change.

Even though the eyebrow is smaller, it is still older than the beard. 

Never judge by appearance. 

Nature can teach us a lot. 

Amazing to see a honey badger fight off 3 leopards and walk away!

I am not sure discipline can be defined any better :

Discipline is doing what you don't want to do in pursuit of what you want. 

If things were easy to do and you were excited about doing them, you wouldn't need to be disciplined.

There is no better test of a man's integrity than his behavior when he is wrong. 

Pride can make admitting fault/mistakes difficult. 

Our behavior when we are wrong reveals our true character. 

Owning our mistakes demonstrates strength, maturity, and a commitment to growth, 

while blaming others is a sign of a lack of accountability.

It is when faced with the temptation to avoid or deny responsibility, 

that the true strength of our character is demonstrated. 

Take responsibility of your actions! 

Mistakes happen and we Learn.

For the friendship of two, the patience of one is required. 

Patience is when you're supposed to get mad, but you choose to understand. 

All people are people. The people you like the most will annoy you one day. 

Among the major things you need to maintain relationships is forbearance.

Forbearance is creating a permanent system of accommodation for the weaknesses/limitations of an individual, because it will happen again and again and again. 

Some people you need to forbear. 

If you know someone is talkative and will remain so, advising him to remain quiet is a waste of time, you forbear. 

We must learn to forbear.

I have been wanting to write this post for a very long time and I have just now had a chance to sit down and do it :

-stop trying to fit in
-be unique
-don't imitate
-be yourself (in fact be your best self!)

We all have unique gifts. What we do with them matters even more! 

Post what you want to post ,you may never know who it might help! 

Self-doubt is your worst enemy. 

It can lead to negative self-talk and fear of judgment:

-"no one will like this"
-"what will people think?"

Doubt your doubts!

Instead of assuming the worst, we should choose to see the good in others.

Give people the benefit of the doubt. Assume good intentions and avoid jumping to negative conclusions.

Be curious not judgmental. 

Sometimes the way you think about a person, isn't the way they actually are. 

Our minds are meaning-making machines, constantly making assumptions, judgements, and looking for patterns. 

This is not an inherently bad trait – it kept humans safe as we evolved for a very long time. 

But these same tendencies may not serve us as well. 

Our internal narratives can be filled with bias. 

Do not be quick to judge. 

We really should make it a goal each day not to judge people before we truly know them. If we know them, the truth might truly surprise us.

Whatever you are doing, do it with passion and style. 

The assignment of your passion is not to give you money, it can give you money but the assignment of passion is fulfilment. 

There are many things you are passionate about that will not give you money, but in doing them you will find fulfilment. 

You create your passion. You create it by getting good at something. 

Value is beyond your passion. Value is a measure of your usefulness to a people. 

Law of value - Your ability to provide solutions, solutions that are needed & solutions that are useful. 

Everybody must be valuable, you must be an active contributor. You must find something that you have that the world needs & that they are willing to pay you for. 

All in all : If we spend about a third of our lives at work, it's essential that we find passion in it and we get good at it.

When you're deeply passionate about what you do, the work itself becomes fulfilling, even if the path isn't always easy. 

We need to look inward to identify the things that give us a deep sense of fulfilment and joy, and then weave them into the patterns of our daily routines.

We should explore our passions. We should try diffferent things.

Most of us won't know what we like  until we have been exposed to it. 

Passion drives action. 

Find something you enjoy or something you are good at. Ideally, both.

The first and most frequently asked question in any job interview is :

"Tell me about yourself? "

Use this opportunity to share :

1.What have you done in the past (including accomplishments). 
2.What are you doing now. 
3.What do you plan to do in the future.

If you have worked in different industries that have all provided you with diverse experiences, focus on the experiences most relevant to the job you're interviewing for. 

So before you enter the interview room, make sure you've carefully reviewed the job description/job advert.

By spending a lot of time talking about your experience, you achieve two things. First, you set the tone for the interview. Second, this allows the interviewer to pick up on something you said that's important to them and ask a follow-up question. For example, they might say: "Sam, you mentioned you used to deal with the government as your stakeholders. How was your experience?"

The questions that they are asking you are coming from the answers that you gave them, and that way it will be very easy for you to handle the interview.  

Sometimes, the interviewer might challenge your response to see if your answers are well-thought-out and genuine. For example, if you say you're interested in the company's fast growth, the interviewer might ask, "So if we weren't a fast-growing company, you wouldn't be interested?" 

If you encounter such a situation, maintain your composure and respond confidently. You can explain your interest in the specific role and the company's mission, regardless of growth stage. 

Remember, the question is just an eye opener.

Clarity comes from action, not overthinking! 

There are many people today if they took that action they would have gotten that job,

if they took that action they would have built that business. 

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. 

To overcome fear here's all you have to do : realize the fear is there, and do the action you fear anyway! 

Better try & fail than fail to try!
