Jesse currently leads Employee Experience for Human Resources at the world’s largest integrated energy company. He previously led the “Pandemic Transformation Committee” and is a recognized contributor to the “Future of Work” project at the World Economic Forum (WEF). He was also a consultant on “HR 4.0: Shaping People Strategies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution” and “Towards a Reskilling Revolution.” His responsibilities include ESG, Employee Experience, Strategic Partnerships, Leadership Development, and Diversity & Inclusion. He began his international career in 1999 with Telos Corporation, where he was head of the $29 million Western European account in Heidelberg, Germany. In 2004, he entered government service with the US Department of Commerce, serving first in the Office of Strategic Planning, and then as Director of Global Market Research. In September of 2007, he began his first tour as a Diplomat in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was then promoted to Commercial Consul for Jeddah. His third tour was in New Orleans, assisting Louisiana companies with post-Katrina recovery. During this period, Mr. Lapierre was also an Adjunct Professor at Xavier University, teaching courses on International Business and E-Commerce. Immediately after New Orleans, Jesse assumed his role as the Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the Embassy of the United States in Jakarta, Indonesia, where his notable accomplishments included bringing in over $365 million in Clean Energy investments at APEC 2013, and more than 20 new US Franchises to Indonesia. In 2014, he was assigned as the Principal Commercial Officer at the US Consulate in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. In this role, he led international business development for the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, with over $200 million in total deal flow during his tenure. He also created the first ‘Saudi Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum’ in 2015, ahead of the trend to bring more Saudi females into the workforce. Jesse is from Massachusetts, and earned his B.A. in English Literature from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH and his M.A. in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University in Arlington, VA. He has a certificate in Developmental Economics from Universitiet van Pretoria in Pretoria, South Africa. He speaks Indonesian, French, German, Arabic, and Afrikaans. As a former professional rugby player, Jesse competed in South Africa and Australia. He currently serves as President of the Dhahran Youth Rugby Club, and is a Member for Grassroots and Youth Committee at the Saudi Arabian Rugby Federation.
