I came from the projects in Brooklyn, New York, with no mother, kicked out, learning to survive on my own, but today I stand before you not broken but empowered. I didn’t quite have the mindset today, because when I was constantly kicked down, all I saw was all the failures and not my potential. Not truly, having parents or a warm family life did break me, but I also moved on with my life, because if I didn’t pick myself up who would? 1. I had three beautiful children. 2. I joined the US Army and served my country proudly while making sacrifices to my family, but I walked away after 10 years showing my children that “Mom is not broken, she is a Soldier.” 3. I remarried and was blessed with four stepchildren and now had a small basketball team comprised of four boys and three girls. 4. I was able to see all of my seven children grow up, as they are my children “step” doesn’t exist in my family, and saw my oldest son graduate college with his Bachelors in Accounting, Cum Laude. Today, is my youngest daughter, the baby, her 18th birthday. Now, this is the day to write this bio as not only has the adult door opened for my daughter, but I am stepping into my purpose. What a flash of 45 years of age, trauma, depression, anxiety, and mental illness, but also a Soldier, a college graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, a proud mother and grandmother, and a demonstration that if I made it and still growing so can you. If you feel you can’t then that is why I am here to change the game for you. Jessica Dalby Brand Media was built and inspired through all the struggles, obstacles, and prior achievements through my previous brands, but to change the game as we see in life and business.
