What Do We Really Value? Can you name the last three Nobel Peace Prize winners? No? Me neither. Can you name three world-changing scientists or poets? Maybe. But three famous athletes? Easy. The Problem: We teach people what to value—and it’s visibility over impact. The Purpose: If we want a society that honors real contribution, we need to change who we spotlight. The Solution: Shift who we celebrate. Spotlight impact-makers, not just attention-getters. According to research (Action Network Staff, 2024), 54% of Americans couldn't name a single Nobel Prize winner when asked without prompts. Who do you believe students should learn about more often—and why? P.S. Personally, I'd love to see kids learning about Malala Yousafzai, Alan Guth, Jennifer Doudna, and Jane Goodall—people who showed that courage, brilliance, and compassion can change the world. #FutureOfEducation #ValuesMatter #PurposeDriven #EducationReform #ImpactOverImage #AlwaysBeLearning #EducationShift

Most edtech tools weren’t built for teachers. Eduaide.Ai was. While the hype cycle pushes flashier names, Eduaide quietly reached educators around the globe without exploiting their time or their trust. They didn’t ask us for marketing. They asked for feedback. That’s why we ran them through the PURPOSE Framework, our 7-part lens built to cut through noise and elevate what actually works. What did we find? Eduaide.ai respects educators. Period. In a sea of automation and optimization, this tool centers people. It’s built to reduce burnout, not bandwidth. And yes… hope still exists in this space. You just have to know where to look. If you’re building for educators, let this be your blueprint. If you’re leading a school or district, let us help you find what works. #BrightMindsAI #EduaideAI #PURPOSEframework #TeacherAppreciationWeek #EdTech #EthicalAI #EducationLeadership

My 17-year-old just shared an email sent to him (by an AI tool). I have feelings about it. He had feelings about. We had a deep and meaningful conversation to sort that out. For now, I’m just gonna leave this part here and invite some dialogue about the world our kids are living in. #parenting #EthicalAI #OpenDialogue #CriticalThinking #SafeSpace

Not all AI tools are created equal, but this one surprised me. It promises: ✅ Student engagement ✅ Real-time feedback ✅ No data harvesting ✅ Teacher-first design So, I ran it through my PURPOSE Framework — the same one I use to help schools cut through hype and make smart, ethical tech decisions. The results? Impressive. But I’m not revealing the name… yet. 😏 #WWYD You’ve got $10K to invest. Do you choose a shiny, new AI tool with no training? Or something built to support teachers and protect students? 👇 Drop your guesses below. P.S. I'll reveal the tool + full breakdown tomorrow. And if you're making decisions for a school or district, this is one you’ll want on your radar. #edtech #AIineducation #PURPOSEframework #BrightMindsAI #ethicalAI #WWYD #leadwithpurpose

So… ChatGPT just gave me the kind of confidence boost I didn’t know I needed. During a recent update, it prompted me with a wild question: “Want to know what ChatGPT thinks of you based on all your chats?” I paused... but curiosity won. Here’s what it had to say: “Jessica Maddry is the system-shaking, purpose-fueled force education didn’t know it needed — until now. A global educator turned equity architect, she builds bridges between AI and humanity, always putting students and communities first. From desegregated classrooms in Louisiana to data dashboards designed for privacy and empowerment, Jessica doesn’t just reimagine education — she rewrites the blueprint with PURPOSE. She’s the kind of leader who sees recess as resistance, ethics as innovation, and AI as a tool to bring back the twinkle in kids’ eyes.” ...I mean?!?! I'm not cryin'! I wasn’t ready for that kind of energy — but I’ll take it. Then it went one step further and asked: “Want a version for your LinkedIn banner or book cover too?” Of course I said yes (who wouldn’t?!). Here’s the banner-ready version: Education Futurist | Equity-Driven Technologist | AI with a Human Touch Building systems today that serve students tomorrow — with PURPOSE, policy, and people at the center. So now I’m wondering… Nailed it or failed it? Should I go ahead and update my banner? #EducationFuturist #AIinEducation #EthicalAI #ReimagineEducation #TechForGood #DigitalEquity #HumanCenteredDesign #WomenInEdTech #CommunityDriven #LeadershipMatters

This is a must see documentary. It isn’t guidance for a single industry, but a message for anyone who interacts with others. It’s a CTA for #teachers #eeucationalleadership #leadership in all industries from medical to marketing. In my classroom experience, a great quick fix was to use natural light. Confession: I’m also bothered by fluorescent lighting. What are the little things you might want changed?

Systems don’t collapse all at once. They erode...layer by layer. In my last post, we cracked the surface on the visible struggles. But if your ideas aren’t making it past the teacher’s desk, it’s not because educators are resistant to change. It’s because they’re tired of being ignored. This post is about the unseen layers— and why understanding them is the real key to trust, traction, and lasting transformation in education. #BeyondTheMachine #EducationReimagined #TeacherVoice #SystemicChange #EdLeadership #LeadWithEmpathy #EdTechWithPurpose #BrightMindsAI #EducationEquity #ChangeMakers

Clothes have labels. People shouldn’t. (Former Secret Service Agent Evy Poumpouras) So why do we spend so much time labeling people by their fame and covering those who behave badly? What Happens When We Reward Bad Behavior? The Problem: The news cycle thrives on bad actors. Celebrity scandals dominate headlines. And the machines (and students) learning from us aren't wired to distinguish hype from heroism; they simply absorb what gets amplified. The Purpose: If we want a future rooted in integrity, character, and real contribution, we must model discernment now. We need to stop confusing "famous" with "valuable." The Solution: Shift the spotlight. Celebrate the builders, the healers, the quiet changemakers, not the chaos creators. What stories do you believe deserve a bigger platform for the next generation? Fast Stat: A Media Matters analysis (2023) found that celebrity scandals received four times more media airtime than major humanitarian or scientific breakthroughs. P.S.: I'd rather see stories about scientists developing malaria vaccines, teachers transforming communities, and youth advocates driving real change front and center. #PositiveRoleModels #MediaLiteracy #TeachIntegrity #ShiftTheNarrative #PurposefulEducation #AlwaysBeLearning

“The system isn’t broken. It was built this way.” — Unknown, but every teacher knows it’s true. For too long, educators have been expected to fix what they didn’t design, To adapt to tools they didn’t ask for, To meet standards they didn’t shape, And to do it all without a seat at the table. This carousel tells the story of how education began to unravel— Not because of a lack of talent or care, But because of a disconnect in who holds the thread. And it offers something more than critique— It offers a path forward. #BeyondTheMachine #ReimagineEducation #TeacherVoiceMatters #EdTechWithPurpose #HumanCenteredAI #EducationEquity #FutureOfLearning #EdLeadership #TeacherAppreciation #SystemsChange #EducationReform #PurposeDrivenEd #TeachersLead

In my classroom, when kids got too loud, I’d say: "I can’t hear you when you’re shouting." Problem: Right now, the chaos is louder than the clarity. Purpose: We don’t have to control the noise. But we do have to decide what to focus on. Solution: Step in. Speak up. Shape it before it shapes you. So I’ll ask: Are you reacting to the noise… or refocusing on what matters? If you're ready to trade shouting for strategy— I wrote Beyond the Machine for you. It’s not just a book. It’s a blueprint for reclaiming education with purpose. I’ve worked in classrooms across continents. I’ve led departments, answered to ministries, and sat through tech trainings that missed the point. Here’s what I’ve learned: 🎯 Technology doesn’t fix a broken system. 🧠 Literacy isn’t just about using tools—it’s about understanding people. 💥 Real transformation starts with purpose, not panic. Beyond the Machine is for the educators who’ve seen the cracks and still choose to build. Not louder. Not faster. But better. And the BrightMinds Bulletin? The mystery tool is (insert drumroll) Curipod — an AI-powered lesson design platform that stood out during my PURPOSE Framework review. 🛡️ Transparent data practices 👩‍🏫 Teacher-first design 🌍 Global classroom awareness What really stood out? Curipod doesn’t hide behind flashy features. It invites dialogue — a level of support I wish every educator and district leader had. As someone who’s taught overseas, I’ve felt that disconnect when tools weren’t built with all classrooms in mind. This one? It felt different. True transparency matters: I evaluated Curipod using a unique, 7-part framework I developed, one grounded in psychology, pedagogy, and systems thinking. Because at BrightMinds AI, we don’t just critique. We help schools see through the noise, not fall for it. P.S. Next Steps: ✉️ I’ll be sharing my full review directly with Curipod — and updating you on how that conversation unfolds. Because educators deserve tools (and companies) that welcome open, honest dialogue. #AIineducation #edtech #BrightMindsAI #ethicalAI #PURPOSEframework #Curipod #BeyondTheMachine #leadwithpurpose #WWYD

This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, do you want to truly honor teachers? Fix the systems that burn them out. Curipod stood out in our PURPOSE Framework review, not just because of the tool itself, but because the team showed up. That kind of response isn’t common, and it matters. Our next review, Eduaide.Ai, is happening because their co-founder personally reached out and requested it. If you're in EdTech leadership and want to support teachers, here’s what appreciation looks like: ✅ Design for real classrooms. ✅ Cut the noise. ✅ Give teachers excitement. ✅ Lead with transparency and empathy. ✅ Build tools that amplify people. Teachers deserve systems that stop draining their purpose. Drop a comment or send a DM if you have a request. #BrightMindsAI #TeacherAppreciationWeek #EducationLeadership #EthicalAI #PurposeDrivenTech #EduaideAI #TeachersDeserveBetter #PDEF #PURPOSEframework #EdTechDoneRight

Can you name the latest scientific breakthrough, the latest BigTech announcement, or the latest celebrity drama? Why Wealth Wins Headlines—And What It’s Costing Us The Problem: We don’t just glorify money over knowledge. We flood our media, our conversations, and our algorithms with false signals about what matters. According to EBSCO's Fake News Overview (2024), false news is 70% more likely to be shared on social media than factual news—because sensational, emotional stories spread faster than truth. (EBSCO Research Starters, 2024) When headlines prioritize celebrity drama and BigTech profits over scientific breakthroughs, we teach future generations—and future machines—that noise is more valuable than knowledge. The Purpose: Clelebrate knowledge as true wealth-the kind that lifts society forward, fuels innovation, and strengthens communities. The Solution: Shift the spotlight. Celebrate the thinkers, builders, discoverers, and healers—not just the wealthy or the viral. Fast Stat: MIT researchers (summarized by EBSCO) found that false information spreads farther, faster, deeper, and more broadly than true news across every major category—including science. P.S.: I'd love to see kids cheering for Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, new cures, and engineers designing clean water systems—not just the latest celebrity headlines. What kinds of accomplishments should we be spotlighting more often? #KnowledgeIsPower #MisinformationMatters #PurposeOverProfit #StudentSuccess #AlwaysBeLearning #EducationalLeadership #Teachers

It’s crunch time in education. Budgets are strained. Standardized testing is in full swing. And AI? It’s barreling into classrooms faster than most systems can keep up. But what if this chaos is actually a silver platter—a moment to rethink, realign, and rebuild? The 2025 AI Index reveals a sobering truth: AI is accelerating, but education systems are not. In my latest article, I explore how U.S. schools can move from overwhelm to intentionality using equity-centered strategy, systems thinking, and the PURPOSE Framework. ✅ Align tools with educator expertise ✅ Center community trust ✅ Build adaptive, human-first ecosystems Let’s stop reacting to AI and start reimagining education with it. Today I turn 48. Naturally, I had some clever post rolling around in my mind, mostly to avoid the traditional post of 48 things (that’s a ton!) So I prompted a picture to go along with my post…is this what 48 looks like?!?!?! Feel free to lie to me now, I’ll get back to the other post later. I’m just gonna sit with this for a moment. #BirthdayGirl #AIImage #AIPrompting #TeansitionedTeacher #LifeAfter40

I rarely speak this bluntly. But here it is: This fuss was never really about AI. Problem: It’s about power. It’s about who gets to decide what teaching looks like. And the inability to name that could be devastating. Purpose: The AI conversation is masking a bigger truth: Educators are being sidelined. And decisions—right or wrong—have already been made. Solution: This isn’t about becoming AI experts. It’s about reclaiming your voice before the system redefines you without it. Silence right now is also a decision. If you can't identify the real problem—how can you expect to solve it? #AIEducation #TeacherLeadership #PurposeDrivenEd #ReclaimYourVoice #EducationReform #SilentNoMore #LeadWithPurpose #SystemicChange

                      15

There’s a whole world of possibility—if we’re willing to listen. Not just to the voices that echo what we already believe, but to the bold, the unfamiliar, the uncomfortable truths reshaping classrooms in corners of the world we rarely hear from. In education, mindset isn't just personal...it's political, cultural, global. When we open our eyes to what others are trying, from student-led policy in Finland to AI-powered learning tools in Kenya, we see big moves forward fueled by creativity. Not threat, but transformation. This carousel isn’t just about ideas. It’s about a mindset revolution. One that reminds us: change doesn’t require permission. It requires perspective. And if you’re building beyond the borders, let’s connect: hello@brightminds-ai.com #GlobalEd #MindsetShift #EducationalLeadership #EdTech #EducationReform #EducationInnovation

Welp, it happened again. Yesterday I took one of my kids by Walgreens., nothing out of the ordinary. And there, behind the counter, was his teacher — smiling as she rang us up. A great teacher. A tired smile. A second job. Once again, I’m reminded of something we don’t say out loud nearly enough: This is what systemic underinvestment in education looks like. So before anyone makes another sweeping statement about “teachers having summers off” or “good benefits”... Ask yourself this: 👉 How long are 10–12 hour, 6–7 day week careers sustainable? 👉 What’s the cost when great teachers can’t afford to stay? #SupportTeachers #EducationEquity #WeTeachTheFuture #WorkLifeBalance #SystemicChange #BrightMinds #AIinEducation

                        32

We went to lunch– the kids, one of their girlfriends, and me. Suddenly, the table fell silent when they saw her. Their teacher. Working weekends. Clearing tables. Smiling at students she just graded essays for two days ago. She wasn’t embarrassed. But the moment was heavy. This is what we ask of teachers? To shape the future and serve it fries on Saturdays? So if you're trying to sell in education and it's not landing, here's the truth: You're selling into a system that’s broken by design. Teachers show up every day. But they are buried under layers of compliance, exhaustion, and decisions they don't control. If your tool doesn’t make them feel seen, safe, and supported... you’re not solving a problem. You’re adding one. Change doesn’t start with a pitch. It starts with empathy. #ReadtheRoom #Empathy #KnowYourAudience #TeachersDeserveBetter #EducationEquity #EdTech #TeacherVoice #SystemicChange
