Whilst studying Geography at the University of Leeds I developed a specific interest in health and how this varies depending on factors of the surrounding environment. As a result my dissertation was based around this theme. I studied how health varied between two locations comparing the quality of the green spaces. I collated data which was used to create maps, which was then analysed alongside existing academic articles. During my time at university I spent two months volunteering teaching sport and drama at a school in Cambodia. The impact of the work, and seeing the growth of the children ignited further desire to ensure helping others was at the core of my future endeavours. Post graduation I undertook a volunteering role based in the UK at a community interest corporation. The central message of the event I helped organise was to emphasise the importance of building mental fitness. Being a more creative role allowed my development of communication and engagement skills in an online format. Following this I completed my law conversion. Whilst I had developed an interest in health during my time at Leeds, I felt having a greater understanding of law would develop the skills required in order to work within a field that aligned with my core value of helping others. Since graduating from the University of Law I've undertaken a paralegal role working on the emissions group litigation action against Volkswagen. Before I then transitioned to my current role, working as an investigator dealing with mortgage specific complaints, with the core value of providing fair and impartial outcomes.
