Head of Communications, Events & Medical Education

A core member of the Senior Management Team. Leading, coaching and inspiring the Events & Medical Education Team of four direct reports, setting strategic alignment in planning, project management and execution of the overall calendar and budgets both within the UK and internationally whilst generating, developing and maintaining partnership working with key organisations and KOL’s.
Duties include:  
- Continuously reviewing and seeking corporate efficiencies with the objective to enhance process management and drive agility, accountability and ambition within the team 
- Project management of multiple assignments with a wide range stakeholders in a timely manner within agreed budgets and metrics through clear KPI’s, capturing ROI and seeking feedback for continuous improvement 
- Core member of both the Senior Management and Strategy Team 
- Accountable for the department budget management within the agreed brand plans and liaising with internal stakeholders as appropriate for contractual and legal agreements
- Zinc reviewer for all EME Team job bags, maintaining relevant and up-to-date knowledge of the code
- Utilising knowledge from the brand plans, building and implementing the yearly strategy
- Accountable for the leadership of the team including recruitment, performance management, salary/bonus review, regular individual and team reviews

Events & Medical Education Lead

Project managing and overseeing the organisation and running of all congress and events (internally and externally) sponsored by Napp both within the UK and internationally for the company’s largest asset within the Primary Care Business Unit. 
Duties included:
- Following the entry into a new therapy area for the company, extensive research and understanding of the landscape and engaging with key available opportunities.
- Organising Napp’s first ever company run event series made up of nine events held across the UK over five weeks. As a result of its success, the event series is now an annual occurrence within the calendar. 
- Developed relationships with key KOL’s and stakeholders to optimise opportunities for working in partnership 
- Introduced a new range of templates and working standards for events 
- Demonstrated my ability to work well under pressure prior to a full team being recruited
- Reestablished good working relationships with other IAC’s
- Creation of internal company-wide events calendar

Senior Events Manager

Merz Pharma

Overseeing and managing the entire international events calendar and budgets across the business. The calendar consisted of approximately 80 events a year that ranged from product launches, live demonstrations, exhibitions, gala dinners, congresses and conferences. Duties included:
- Working with stakeholders to plan and shape the event calendar for the year to ensure business needs are met
- Venue searching, negotiation, contracting and implementation of all events
- Event management of congresses (including booking sponsorship, design and delivery of exhibition stands, managing the live demo stage and overseeing speaker/model management)
- Finding, appointing, contracting, briefing and managing third party suppliers and working with these agencies to bring concepts into implementation
- Oversee the creation of all branding and marketing campaigns for events including creation of invitations, flyers, programmes and websites
- Full financial control and budgeting for each event
- Generating processes and procedures (due to the new role within the company)
- Implementing a Strategic Meetings Management Program through Cvent
- Providing full onsite management to ensure smooth running of events
- Contact and correspondence with all staff, speakers, delegates etc.
- Overseeing delegate logistics including registration, transfers and accommodation
- Following approval process to ensure that all materials, presentations, etc. are fully approved before use

Event Manager

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority

Leading the Events Team, calendar and budgets whilst working across all Lee Valley venues to provide and support a variety of mass participation events. These range from world championships in various sport disciplines (including Unibet EuroHockey Championships 2015, ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships 2015 and UCI Track Cycling World Championships 2016), televised world record attempts, music concerts, running, charity and educational events.
Duties included:
- Negotiating contracts and arranging the delivery of all major events including onsite management from bump in to bump out
- Providing the lead point of contact for stakeholders and suppliers
- Maintaining and further developing relationships with National Governing Bodies,
International Federations, Local Authority Licensing, Planning Departments and
Emergency Services. This included being the main events contact on the Olympic Park
- Representing the Authority on Local Organising Committees and Stakeholder Boards whilst working in partnership with external organisation such as UK Sport, LLDC and Sport England
- Designing, planning and managing the event programme
- Line managing and providing guidance to the Events Team consisting of two direct reports, including coaching, work planning and evaluating performances
- Managing the performance of the events budget against agreed targets, including managing revenue generation through hiring activities and budget forecasting
- Development, implementation and review of event policies and procedures
- Ensured events had all relevant health and safety policies and licensing in place and where relevant work with local Safety Advisory Groups
- Oversaw, created and implemented all branding and marketing campaigns for events including creation of flyers, programmes, website, PR and media

Senior Event Officer

Working on a variety of international events within the pharmaceutical industry ranging from congress, standalone meetings, product launches, speaker bureaus, internal meetings and advisory boards.
Duties included:
- Full financial control and budgeting for each event, including final reconciliations and cross charging
- Event management of congresses (including exhibition stands, symposia and onsite dinners)
- Appointment, briefing and management of exhibition stand staff from 36 associate countries
- Providing full onsite management for each event
- Delegate management of all attending international teams (invitations, registration website, logistical bookings and confirmations)
- Venue searching, contracting and liaising
- Finding, appointing, contracting, briefing and management of third-party suppliers
- Liaising with speakers, undertaking all logistical arrangements including payment of honoraria
- Coordination, creation and printing of all event and marketing materials
- Coordination of production and AV support for all events
- Following the approval process to ensure that all materials, presentations, etc. are fully approved before use abiding by the ABPI code
- Extensive international travel and undertaking of site inspections as necessary

Providing a personal service from initial contact to the day of the event.
Duties included:
- Managing every aspect of events including trouble shooting
- Creating all brochures and supporting literature
- Working with clients to their criteria’s and specifications
- Liaising and coordinating with clients and suppliers 
- Briefing and instructing hotel departments on their role within the events

Wedding & Special Events Coordinator

Working with a variety of clients for events ranging from large conferences, exhibitions, private parties to weddings. 
Duties include: 
- Coordinating events (including the initial enquiry, to booking, event planning and managing the day)
- Taking new enquiries via phone, email and face-to-face
- Converting enquires into bookings
- Working within budgets and to strategies
- Liaising with clients and suppliers
- Coordinating AV equipment when required
