Located in Welland, Ontario, Canada, the Compu-Spread business group designs and builds all electronic and hydraulic systems in house. Niagara College Canada

The Centre Manager, Advanced Manufacturing for the Technology Access Centre (TAC) in Advanced Manufacturing, part of the Research & Innovation Division at Niagara College, is responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Centre to ensure successful outreach, development, implementation, and dissemination of advanced manufacturing technical services. .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, manages and monitors budgets related to the Centre including NSERC and technical service revenue.
Develops and implements effective administrative procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the Centre, quality in the delivery of technical services and operations of the research technology laboratories, and accuracy in tracking and reporting on performance measures.
Conduct outreach and business development activities in the community (industry, academic, governmental) to generate leads and technical service contracts as well as grow relationships and build an advanced manufacturing network in support of the TAC.
Ensures compliance with Niagara College and NSERC policy and that reports to NSERC, the Centre Advisory Board and the Research & Innovation division, are completed and submitted accurately.
Collaborates with on funding applications with federal, provincial and regional government agencies in support of advanced manufacturing research projects.
Attends events, conferences, tradeshows, industry association meetings, etc. to engage industry and promote applied research at Niagara College, including representing Niagara Research in speaking engagement opportunities.

Centre Manager - Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre

• To Develop a successful design department for the purpose of contributing to the overall achievement of the company’s mission statement and goals
• To provide the environment and opportunity in which all Design staff can achieve their personal goals
• To highlight and promote design and engineering capabilities to Technical sales reps, marketing, and potential customers
• Gives guidance and direction in all aspects of Design to Team Leaders and members
• Finding the best methods of improving productivity and efficiency within the department
• To investigate and pursue new technologies which would benefit the overall efficiency of the design group. This may include but not be limited to CAD, CAM, or CAE software, data management systems, meeting and scheduling software, design and engineering methods
• To cultivate and nurture business relationships with all software vendors (particularly Autodesk and VestUSA) such that Bosch Rexroth Canada continues to receive preferred status on all software development activities special pricing structures
• Ensure all design activities reflect / follow Bosch and globally recognized standards
• Ensure that all Design activities fall within recognized Corporate and Industry guidelines
• Check and monitor the function and safety of the workplace and equipment
• Create a safe and environmentally friendly workplace by ensuring proper training of operations and equipment to employees and contractors
• Responsible for complying with environmental protection procedures and fire safety procedures and ensure that employees observe the instructions and regulations when carrying out their assigned tasks
