Assumed a wide variety of public policy, regulatory, and product counsel roles and responsibilities across various business units of the “old” AT&T, SBC, and the “new” AT&T.  For over a decade, held various telecom and media regulatory and policy legal roles within AT&T and SBC, first as a state telecom regulatory lawyer, managing AT&T state telecom regulatory matters and a team of regulatory professionals in the southeast; then as a federal telecom regulatory lawyer in Washington, D.C., developing and advocating AT&T’s (formerly SBC’s) legal and policy positions on federal telecom, digital media, and cable regulatory issues; and finally as a regulatory and policy lawyer in AT&T’s Texas headquarters, coordinating state and federal regulatory legal and policy issues with senior legal and business client groups throughout the company.  Became chief counsel for AT&T Wi-Fi Services, which included drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, negotiating significant acquisitions, and other major transactional work and providing general legal risk assessments for senior business leaders on a wide range of networking and commercial issues.  Simultaneous with that role, was chief product lawyer for AT&T’s enterprise VoIP and conferencing products, managing a team of high performing product lawyers.
