There's a term for people like me, we're called Hybrid IT consultant. We have a broad range of IT knowledge though we may better skilled in one area, we have sufficient knowledge in the rest to couple together a holistic view of our client's IT environment. We are flexible, quick and agile. We learn to pick up things fast, and sometimes forget it faster. Personally, networking is the foundation, everything else build on top of this. Using network as the base, build up on server & storage going into virtualisation and little into development. From Layer 1 to Layer 7 the direction I go.
