I graduated from Art College at the age of 18, then went on to establish a business creating ceramic jewellery. I then began to lease my own retail premises in Bath, UK where I sold all kinds of jewellery and textiles, eventually beginning to import from Thailand, India, and Indonesia. I also became interested in volunteering within the field of Addiction, to gain experience of working therapeutically, providing services in Drugs Projects such as BDP in Bristol, and B.A.D.A.S in Bath. As I developed my understanding of what the work involved, I came to know what interested me the most. I took on employees within my business, enabling me to take up paid roles, beginning with GP liaison at outreach clinics in Bristol UK, moving on to a full time role at HMP Leyhill as a C.A.R.A.T.S worker, managing caseload and running groups/treatment programs on the Drug Free Wing. This role included intensive work with Schedule One Offenders, many of whom were Sex Ofenders. I took up various trainings to support this work alongside the paid role. After some time, I left the prison to take up a position at K.W.A.D.S in Knowle West, Bristol to develop a Relapse Prevention Program Meanwhile, the business, Jewel In The Dust went from strength to strength. After working at K.W.A.D.S and establishing that program, I moved to an organisation called New Highway in Wilstshire, as a shared worker, once again doing outreach work in various surgeries around the county. After the project was re-tendered, I went to DHI in Bath for a short time, as a criminal justice worker. In 2013, I decided to close my retail business, feeling it had ran it's course. I took time out for a while to figure out what next. That is when I began informally doing consultancy work, research and online retail. Currently I am more focused on the research and work on projects pertaining to International Child Trafficking/ Sexual Abuse, mostly in Asia.
