Much of the job description is defined by the needs of the people.

However, I play to my strengths drawing from past experiences of creating community: 

I bring small to medium-sized communities (5 to 50) together through events. 

I connect these communities through internal communications on online channels.  

I help people grow 1:1 with care and candour.

Graduate Student Representative (Department of Southeast Asian Studies) 

I theorise practice, practicalise theory and pass it on! 

I think about slow causes of sudden natural disasters in the Global South (mainly Southeast Asia - Indonesia and the Philippines). I'm interested in how these shape theory, research methods, policy and best practices. 

I value the voice of the people in research - including my own - and strive to listen well through exchanging ideas and languages and making my original contribution. 

I multiply what I learn through teaching and web-based communication. 

Research Interests: Cultural Theory, World Anthropologies, Political Ecology 

Side interests: Space Policy, African Studies, Ethnomusicology

I create simple messages that move mass audiences to add life to their years, and add years to their life. 

Co-facilitated > 130 local media stories - human interest, new collaborations, events

Co-produced original content static posts, GIFs, animated and Tik Tok-style videos - in-house and with external vendors 

Crisis communications monitoring, especially in social media (Facebook/ Instagram/ Reddit Forums) 

Collaborated with team to produce weekly internal newsletters and drive Workplace@Facebook social media engagement

Created Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for team's social media and video scripting processes

Senior Executive

National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID)

I create and curate messages to the public and stakeholders at Singapore's COVID-19 ground zero. 

Supported Executive Director's Office in facilitating media requests at the peak of COVID-19

Set up SOPs for facilitating media stories and virtual press conferences 

Stakeholder management - with other teams, hospitals/ business units, media and the public 

I thank God for this unique opportunity to serve at the "media frontline".

NUS Enterprise

I create transformative two-week experiences immersing international students in Singapore's start-up ecosystem. 

Project management for the two-week experience comprising talks, workshops and networking sessions 

Publicity generated reached students from 6 of 7 continents

Prepared 30+ local undergraduate student facilitators to lead international teams

My role as a consultant to the programme in 2018 was preceded by three editions of the programme that I led as part of NUS Enterprise.

Consultant (NUS Enterprise Summer Programme on Entrepreneurship '18) 

Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy (ACSEP)

I use research to enable social impact practitioners to act with insight. 

The vision of the Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy (ACSEP) is to advance understanding and impactful practice of social entrepreneurship and philanthropy throughout Asia through research and education.

At ACSEP, I conduct qualitative research (with data derived from in-depth interviews) on Grassroots Philanthropy in Singapore in the New Millennium, as part of the centre's 200 year study on giving in Singapore (from 1819 - 2019). 

In addition, I am part of the core team focused on the dissemination of our research to a broader audience outside academia.  

I also contribute to various activities that advance the centre's vision, such as providing content for ACSEP blogposts and social media, and general project management.

Research Associate

I build the university's social entrepreneurship ecosystem through events and education. 

I research the application of the Business Model Canvas to social enterprises, organise the annual DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia competition, and develop the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the National University of Singapore.

I conduct research on global trends from and about Asia. 

Conducted qualitative research on two projects on the flows of transnational migrants in Singapore: Casino Mobilities, and Encounters in the Global City.
