Manchester Tech Festival is week long festival in October 2022 that has been created by the tech community, for the tech community. It dedicates itself to helping tech people learn, create, thrive and will shape Manchester's tech scene moving forwards as we look to rebuild and refocus in the region. 

We will be highlighting the diverse talent, showcasing our innovative businesses and bringing together our bustling eco system and the community for a week of networking and learning. 

Manchester Tech Festival is a not-for-profit with a space for software engineers, startups & scaleups , investors, product owners and practitioners to come together.

As Head of Venues, I'll be responsible for reaching out to local event spaces for both the event talks and the socials in the lead up to the event, as well as contacting speakers for the Festival.

-  Part of OBI's Transactions team taking market share from circa 30% to 42% in Manchester’s commercial office market in 2018.
	
- Identified the tech sector as a growth sector for OBI. Created and delivered our route to market strategy to make OBI the most active property advisor of tech businesses in the UK.

- Value beyond real estate – An initiative I brought in to support businesses with ambitions to scale. We created an added value framework which was outside of real estate to ensure we created ROI beyond our real estate service.

- Leeds – Created the occupier strategy to enter in to Leeds. I worked to deliver our route to market strategy for Leeds occupiers with the team.

- Studio OBI – Appointed as Managing Director in Feb 2019 alongside OBI role and Leeds expansion.

“I’m worried about posting on LinkedIn”

I was on a roundtable recently and a successful man in the property industry stated how we was apprehensive to post on LinkedIn anymore due to being tore in to by his “peers” every time he tried to put something out. 

To all those that lurk on LinkedIn and don’t create content due to fear of what others think, you are missing out on an opportunity. 

I get ripped in to several times for the amount I post, particularly by those in my industry. But those same people that were laughing at me are now following suit. 

If you are thinking about posting, just get it done. You never know where it might take you.

A lot of people default to tearing you down because they’re not great at expressing themselves, that’s their problem, not yours.

To create content consistently whilst spinning numerous other plates is tough but it’s worthwhile.

The Manchester Padel league is officially over! 🫶

Massive congratulations to Five Wealth Ltd on the win 🏆

Official end of league party taking place on Thursday 23rd October from 4.30pm onwards in Manchester at x+why  🎉 

What started off as an idea between Harry Neil Panter and I, has really taken off and brought some mega people together from Manchesters business community. 

We decided between LEVEL Workspace & Housr we would sponsor a Padel league with the sole aim of getting people out and active as so many seem to be enjoying the sport whilst a number of others wanted to try their hand at it. 

We had people of all levels and from all sectors join us, including; accounting, legal, property, technology, private equity, wealth management and more. 

We will be definitely taking our learnings from this years event to make it bigger and better next year.
