Join the waitlist for my personal branding course: joegannon.co/waitlist 🚀 Amplify is the trusted partner of global experts to elevate their voice and authority. Our clients past and present include: Ali Abdaal, Sahil Bloom, Jordan Peterson, Chris Williamson, Greg Isenberg, Mikhaila Peterson, Andreessen Horowitz and many more founders, authors, and public speakers. My first job in the creator economy was working for Ali Abdaal for 3 years where, in Noah Kagan’s words, I was the “creator behind the creator.” Now, we use 7+ years of experience to build personal brands that position our clients as the expert in their industry. On a personal note, in 2021 I went through a severe period of burnout which was the worst year of my life. I lost my full-time job from the pandemic and put everything into starting Amplify. I flew out the gates building a business around my passion for content creation, but nobody can sprint forever. The result was damaged relationships, my first run-in with my mental health difficulties and any 'progress' I had made in those initial first business quarters was soon washed away. For months I didn't feel myself, I lost enjoyment in my work, and I couldn't make progress. I was stuck. I share this because, as a creator and founder, I know how important it is to have a great team around you and to systematise your content growth so that you can focus on what truly matters. Your content has to be a flywheel that is working for you and it's essential to have a strategy up-to-date with what's working TODAY. If you've made it this far, it's great to meet you. You're my kind of person and we'll get along well. The number 1 rule that changed my business: Lead with purpose. For years, I chased success the way everyone said you should. And it always felt… hollow. But working with world-class creators opened my eyes to a path beyond society’s idea of “success.” Here are 3 main takeaways from my experience: 1. They build businesses around life, not the other way around. These founders weren't chasing traditional success.  They created business models with: - Leverage (time wasn't tied to their income) - Freedom (work from anywhere) - Flexibility (designed their ideal day, not the other way around) 2. They led from values, not fear. I'll never forget Cliff Weitzman’s core principle: "Lead with love." Even with 100+ team members, his leadership was about: - Drawing out people's best work through support - Creating environments where people felt valued - Building trust instead of instilling fear 3. They were intentional about everything They drew clear lines in the sand: - This is who we are/aren’t - This is how we work/won't work. They didn’t let anyone convince them their vision wasn’t possible. That’s exactly the kind of leader I wanted to become. And over time, I realised this wasn’t just their story. It could be mine. And it can be yours too. You don't need outdated leadership models. You can build something extraordinary by being intentional, value-driven, and focused on environments where people (including you) win. Repost ♻️ if you're committed to leading with purpose.

Nobody ever talks about this. How well do you know your own work style? There are thousands of videos online about how to be more productive. They’re usually boring, generic pieces of advice from somebody who’s never met you before. It probably mentions to have more breaks (nice!) and to outsource your work (not always possible…) In business, we create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for EVERYTHING except ourselves. It’s crazy. So I built my own and here’s how you can too: After losing hundreds of hours trying generic advice, I built: A personal SOP for every mental state. My Notion template contains exact actions for when: - Focus disappears - Energy crashes mid-day - Decision-making feels impossible It gives me pre-decided solutions when I'm least equipped to make decisions. The difference? I’m able to spot my own patterns before they become a problem. Here's how to build yours: 1. Document your recurring challenges (focus, energy, mood) 2. Track your own solutions for what actually works in those moments 3. Create a step-by-step strategy for your future struggling self 4. Keep it in Notion, Google Docs, or wherever you'll use it Make sure your operating system includes you. I call this The Personal SOP and you can grab my free template here: https://lnkd.in/eE4n4bVj "You don't rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems." I'm hosting a free webinar this Thursday 22nd May! I’ve worked with some of the biggest creators and founders in the world to help them grow personal brands that actually convert. Now I’m sharing the exact framework we use - for free - for the first time. In this live workshop, I’ll walk you through the StrateTree™ framework: the same process we’ve used at Amplify to help hundreds of entrepreneurs get clear on who they are, what they stand for, and what to post online. I’ll show you: - Why most people get stuck before they even start - How to build the roots of a sustainable personal brand - The content strategy tree that simplifies everything I’m doing this because I hate seeing smart people get stuck. If you’ve got value to share but feel blocked on how to show up online, this will help. No upsells. No fluff. Just the real work most people skip. We’ll wrap up with a Q&A so I can dig into your specific questions. Come along LIVE to get your questions answered and to finally unblock your personal brand. Your support never goes unnoticed and I really hope to bring the heat so this provides as much value as possible for you. I’ll only be doing this once - don’t miss out. Date: Thursday 22nd May 4-5pm BST 🗓️ Sign up here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dedNthYj P.S. You'll never see me hold a whiteboard with a motivational quote... but my own webinar? That's different!

If I lost all my 70,000+ followers today and had to start from scratch, here’s exactly how I’d rebuild my personal brand: 1. I'd reduce the stakes to increase consistency People don’t want perfect frameworks anymore, they want to see how you think. So I’d treat my posts like a window into my actual process: the half-formed thoughts, the content systems I’m tweaking, the lessons I’m learning in real time. I wouldn’t wait until something was “finished” to share it. I’d share the process while I’m still in it. That transparency is what makes people trust you. And when people trust how you think, they trust how you work. 2. I'd focus on what energises me, not what performs best Most people on LinkedIn are chasing reach. More followers, more views, more clicks. But I’ve seen firsthand that breadth without depth doesn’t lead to trust (and trust is what drives results). So if everyone else is focused on going wide, I’d go deep. I’d share nuanced posts that speak directly to the right 100 people, rather than trying to impress the wrong 10,000. Because when you build differently, intentionally, and with care, you don’t just grow an audience. You build a community that actually wants to hear from you tomorrow. 3. I’d turn every insight into a format that scales It’s one thing to have great ideas. It’s another to turn them into assets that keep working for you. I’d take every idea that lands and ask: how can I turn this into something repeatable? A carousel, a podcast clip, a visual, a short script. This is what turns creators into systems. Your best ideas shouldn’t be buried in yesterday’s post. They should be working for you 24/7 in different formats across your ecosystem. That’s it. Authenticity first. Systems second. Consistency always. P.S. Tomorrow, I’m hosting a FREE live webinar where I’ll go deeper into the ideas in this post and walk you through the StrateTree™ framework, the exact system we use at Amplify to build sustainable personal brands from the ground up. It’s a one-time session. Don’t miss it. 🗓️ Thursday 22nd May | 4-5pm BST Sign up here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dedNthYj

Most founders don’t fail from a lack of effort. (If you’re serious about growing your business, save this) They fail because they’re flying blind. You can be profitable on paper and still run out of cash. The fix? You need the right tools to give you visibility. That’s why I’ve been using Xero for the past 4 years. It helps me see the full picture and make decisions with confidence. Here’s how it helps: 1. Stay on top of cash flow ↳ Go to “Short-term cash flow” ↳ See money coming in and out for the next 7–30 days ↳ Test scenarios (delay a bill, speed up a payment) and see the impact instantly 2. Track profit in real time ↳ Accounting tab → Reports → Profit & Loss ↳ View income, expenses, and net profit for any period ↳ Customise what matters most and stay ahead, not reactive 3. Get paid faster ↳ Business tab → Invoices ↳ See who owes you, and how much ↳ Send branded reminders in one click (no awkward follow-ups) The result? ↳ No more “gut feeling” decisions ↳ Just clarity, control, and less stress 👉 Try Xero today and get 90% off for the first 6 months: https://lnkd.in/erzDS3z4 ♻️ Repost this to help more founders stop flying blind. #XeroPartner

Most people put way too much pressure on every post. Particularly you over-achievers out there! You tell yourself content only counts if it’s perfect. You don't allow yourself to: - Share half-formed thoughts - Screenshot notes from your phone - Take snippets from calls you just had But in a world where everything is looking the same, it's easier than ever to stand out. More off-the-cuff content is what people are seeking.  We're craving authenticity and real experience. You can write a post without it needing to be a book.  You can interview a friend without calling it a podcast. You can film a video without starting a YouTube channel. You have to just share and then improve as you go. Start where you are, use what you have. P.S. If you're tired of overthinking your personal brand and want a system you can rely on, join the waitlist for my upcoming course: https://lnkd.in/dxUkkYUB ♻️ Share this with someone who’s holding back on their brand.

I’m writing outside today. Something I’ve learned about myself is that I work really well outdoors. I have no idea why that is - but I’ve been leaning into it. This normally looks like one of two methods: 1. Sitting outside with my laptop Just like playing lofi beats or brown noise can help with focus, for some reason when I’m outside I really snap into focus. Spending more time in Florida makes this easier with all-year sun, but right now it’s sunny in the UK and it’s been really great for reducing stress and feeling more present. 2. Recording voices notes on a walk Today I’m wrestling with some topics I’ve researched to create frameworks for our founding members cohort. Sometimes using an iPad helps for this - another way I feel more creative - but today I felt too cooped inside so I’ve gone for a walk. There’s loads of tools and apps for this, but right now I just use the Recorder app on my phone and talk my mind. To get a readable transcript does require capturing good audio - a standard pair of Apple wired earphones do the trick nicely ($20) I’ll come up with ideas as I walk, hitting somewhere between 10-15k steps by the time I’m finished which beats my average 10-15 steps to the fridge. Does anybody else actively work outside or is that just me?

I’ve built my personal brand through trial and error for 5 years. (Save yourself time with these 10 principles 👇) 1. Always point your audience somewhere. ↳ Don't just create content; guide your audience to the next step. ↳ Every post should have a purpose beyond likes. 2. Keep one foot offline. ↳ Balance digital presence with real-world experiences. ↳ Your most meaningful connections happen away from screens. 3. Balance frequency with quality. ↳ Consistency matters, but not at the expense of substance. ↳ Better to post less often with impact than daily with mediocrity. 4. Use AI to amplify, not replace. ↳ Let AI handle the routine so you can focus on being human. ↳ Your unique perspective is what sets you apart. 5. Choose your content wisely. ↳ Not every thought deserves a post. ↳ Be intentional about what you share and why. 6. Collaborate with your competitors. ↳ The pie is bigger than you think. ↳ Strategic partnerships elevate everyone involved. 7. Don't 'Post and Ghost'. ↳ Engagement doesn't end when you hit publish. ↳ Respond, comment, and participate in the conversations you start. 8. Be a guide, not a guru. ↳ Share your journey, not just your destination. ↳ Vulnerability builds stronger connections than perfection. 9. Send one message daily. ↳ Direct outreach creates opportunities algorithms can't. ↳ Meaningful connections come from personal touchpoints. 10. Be kind. ↳ The most underrated strategy in a noisy digital world. ↳ People remember how you made them feel, not just what you said. Which principle resonates with you most? 👇 _____ P.S. Our live Founding Members cohort begins May 27. It’s the first time we’re running it, and the people joining already set a high bar. If you want to build your personal brand with clarity, support, and momentum - DM me and I’ll send over the details.

8 Hard Truths About Content Creation That I Wish I Knew Earlier If you’re a creator, read this. 👇 1. You can’t please everyone. ↳ The more you try, the more you water yourself down. ↳ Pick your people. Talk to them. Forget the rest. 2. There’s no such thing as ‘overnight’ success. ↳ Every ‘viral moment’ sits on top of a mountain of drafts. ↳ Show up. Do the work. Let the results catch up. 3. You will compare yourself to others. ↳ It’s human nature. ↳ The trick? Use it as a motivator. 4. Impostor syndrome is part of the game. ↳ When your content underperforms, doubt creeps in. ↳ Confidence isn’t magic - it’s built through action. 5. Criticism is part of the package. ↳ The bigger you get, the louder the noise. 6. It’s not the algorithm, it’s YOU. ↳ If your engagement disappears with one tweak, you never had real engagement. ↳ Build an audience that actually cares. 7. You’re more forgettable than you think. ↳ If you stop showing up, people move on. ↳ Find a posting rhythm that works for you - consistency builds trust. 8. Your content will suck at first. ↳ Everyone starts at zero. ↳ The faster you accept it, the faster you improve. Which one hit the hardest? 👇 _____ P.S. Join me today for a FREE live webinar where I’ll walk you through the exact framework I use to help founders and creators overcome blocks and build personal brands that actually convert. Yesterday, we kicked off our first cohort. The energy was so high, the chat was popping off, and I couldn’t have asked for more. It feels great to bring to life something that’s been a goal for a very long time. The past month has been a huge effort from the team, but now the real work begins. Giving each and every person the best experience possible to leave them with systems, strategies, and most importantly, clarity. We wanted to operate a test-run with my network to have a very tight feedback loop. We so nearly just went ahead and filmed a course, thinking we knew best - but already after the first 2-hour session, I now know that would’ve been a mistake. You can’t beat putting smart people together. And you can’t shortcut getting direct feedback from your customers. It’ll be 2 months until I can share with you what we’ve been building. But until then, Amplify Academy is underway with our Founding Members 🚀

Right, it’s time to be honest. Earlier this year, I dabbled in more viral content. I massively regret it. Welcome to my TED talk… Just because some types of content grow your following, that doesn’t mean you should post them. The direction many are heading on this platform is not, in my honest opinion, towards content that’s genuinely high quality. Of course, what’s high or low quality is entirely subjective - it comes down to what you’re trying to achieve. If your goal is to build the largest audience humanly possible and then monetise that scale - amazing. Play the numbers game. Viral content works for that. But most people? They’re building a personal brand to become known in their industry, grow their business, and connect with the right people. Earlier this year, I got busy. Really busy. And in that chaos, for a month or two, I defaulted to what I saw working for others: viral formats and broad ideas targeted at the masses. My following pretty much doubled. It felt efficient. But it was a trap. On the surface, everything looked like it was flying - impressions up, engagement up, follower count climbing fast. But here’s the problem: The content could have come from anyone. Which meant I became irrelevant. People were following the message - but not me. And when that happens, slowly but surely, the connection with your audience begins to fade away. It feels hollow. When people talk about engagement over views, what they’re actually chasing is connection. Because connection is what drives everything else: → The warm DMs → The referrals → The "I’ve been following you for months" sales calls → The audience that actually listens When you chase virality, you lose that feedback loop. The analytics become useless - distorted by inflated numbers that don’t reflect what your real audience finds valuable. Yes, you can go viral posting content everyone agrees with. But for 99% of people, that strategy isn’t aligned with the why behind their content in the first place. If it’s an awareness play - great. But that only works when there’s a clear spotlight shining back onto something else you’re building. Most of us (myself included) end up over-indexing on these kinds of posts - often unintentionally - and eventually start sounding like everyone else. Heard this phrase? “People don’t want money. They want what money can buy.” You don’t want followers. You want what engaged followers bring. Instead, focus on the EDI framework: E - Share your Expertise and help others from your experience. D - Document what you’re working on and who you’re becoming. I - Humanise your posts by sharing more of your Interests. Show your personality. Have fun. So the next time you post, pause, and ask yourself: “Is this something only I could have shared?” Because in a feed of AI content, that’s what will stop people from scrolling. That’s what builds a connection. And that’s what will lead to the outcomes you were hoping for in the first place.

I was invited as one of 200 Leaders of Tomorrow to Switzerland. This surprised me. What happened next surprised me even more. I was then chosen as one of 15 people to facilitate a group challenge. As team lead, my role was to bring together some of the sharpest young minds to tackle a challenge sponsored by Accenture. It seems I don’t get many chances to chill nowadays 😅 there’s always another growth opportunity pushing me out of my comfort zone. “How can Europe position itself in the global tech ecosystem?” I felt a little out of my depth with the topic, but I wasn’t selected because I was an expert, I was selected as somebody who could bring a group of people together. We had less than 2 hours to tackle the problem, to create an innovative solution, and then to create a 1-minute video to share with all of the attendees… We won. Thanks to the incredible talent in my team, we were voted as a finalist by the 200 Leaders of Tomorrow to pitch our solution further to an audience of senior leaders and CEOs. To go from thinking “why me” to actually winning… was amazing. This reminded me that the goal isn’t to be the smartest person in the room. Often, it’s not the work of one person that leads to an impact, it’s a collective power rallying behind a mission. Working with such smart, curious, and empathetic people was contagious. “Remember in the face of challenge that you were the one who asked for growth.”

              204

Want to know my career highlight? Working with a superstar who cold-emailed ME. Let me explain how I met Ayushi Jain... Ayushi emailed me out of the blue and then followed up 4x times before I replied. Why didn't I reply to her at first? I honestly didn't see her email. Traveling? Inbox chaos? Who knows. But I almost missed out - and that would’ve been my loss. Lesson: People are busy. This is your reminder to always follow-up because wow, working with Ayushi has been a dream. If you know you'd be a great fit for a business, see it as your personal mission to get in front of them however you can. Didn’t get a reply? Try again. Don't take silence personally. Persevere. If you still don't get a response, and you genuinely could’ve helped them, it's THEIR loss. Move on and give that energy to somebody else. Ayushi proved competency immediately - she wanted to work for Amplify as a content writer and so she showed me she could write upfront. She got my attention with the subject line "Just a 20-something shooting her shot” and her first email contained a branded deck pitching herself. Her eye for design was obvious and the copywriting was great. Lesson: Show don’t tell. Take the extra time upfront and your response rate will 5x - this extends to any industry or role. I've learned the hard way that business really does come down to hiring the right people. Scared of reaching out to people and brands you love? Well I'm personally so grateful Ayushi messaged me and that will be the case for the companies you know you can help. It’s been the perfect fit working together and this would never have happened without her going first. Lesson: Shoot your shot and aim high. It's now my goal to: 1. Keep Ayushi as happy as possible 2. Create an environment conducive to how she works best 3. Support all of her goals (professionally and personally) Thank you Ayushi, I'm blessed to be working with you and beyond excited for what we're building together. When you find the right team, magic happens.

Counting my blessings. I was invited to speak at an Agency Mastermind Retreat in the Dominican Republic. Spending 3 days with 35 top agency owners in the Caribbean. Each person was hungry to succeed. Each person was vulnerable about how their business was doing. Each person was ready to get to the next level. I’ll never forget this week. Speaking alongside Timothy Armoo, Lara Acosta, Kristina Radeva, Romans Ivanovs and Nigel Thomas was a joy. There’s something so magical when a group comes together. You show up as strangers and you leave as friends. My biggest takeaway? There’s always somebody who’s solved the problem you’re struggling with. At the retreat, every single person had a problem that somebody else had already gone through. The solution was always just one question away. I can’t stress the importance of having a community. Peers who’ve got your back. If you’re growing an agency, go and speak to other agency founders. If you’re starting a photography business go and speak to people who’ve done it before. Looking for a promotion? Speak to people who are already at that seniority level. There’s no such thing as a new problem. And you don’t have to grow alone. From operations workshops to learning how to exit your business. From a beach BBQ to a padel tournament of the ages. I’ll jump at the next opportunity to hang with inspiring people. IRL > URL “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.”

I spent 4 days surrounded by leaders of all ages. I returned home full of energy and inspiration. Some of my favourite takeaways were shared by Florence Gaub, Director of NATO Defence College. Here are 3 skills the world needs most right now: 1. Agility > Ability Can you adapt to circumstances? Can you emotionally regulate yourself? 2. Don’t be a collector of facts, be a connector of facts Identify the links, the possibilities, and get creative. The ability to see something new is something AI can’t replace (at least not right now) 3. Curiosity Nobody has all the answers, but what questions do you ask? Work on your humanity. Work on your openness. Work on your empathy. Focus on what makes you human and develop opinions - then change your opinions! As shared by Abdullahi Alim, CEO of The Africa Future Fund, we should spend more time understanding, learning and diagnosing. Go deeper on a problem and ask: “Why is this a problem?” “Why are things how they are?” “How does this problem still exist?” Action is important - but how often do we stop to really think? After many inspiring chats with Adishree Bansal, Founder and CEO of Pleasantri, I feel inspired to journal and to write more. Today there’s too much parroting - people repeating what they’ve heard without lived experience. Question those rented opinions. If you can’t explain why when asked to elaborate, your argument, opinion, or perspective has only one layer of defence. Learn about other cultures, different countries, and take what’s working in other industries into your own. Why not you? Bringing an idea to reality will change your life. The process of going from A-Z is the real skill today - it requires courage, ambition, focus and discipline. Growth starts with improving how you think. To end with my favourite quote from the event: “Stay open to the people, places and perspectives you don’t yet understand.”

                    277

I just turned 28 🎂 Usually, I take my birthdays off. But this year? I’m working - and honestly, I’m glad. Our first cohort is underway and the feedback has been golden. We’re learning so much by doing - about our students, about what they actually want, and how to make this better every time. In true creator fashion, swipe through my 28 hard-earned lessons from launching my first digital product. Here are 10 of my favourites: 1. Test before you launch Our Founding Members cohort saved us from launching something half-baked. We almost didn't do this and that would've been the biggest mistake - it would've been 💩 2. Music changes everything The right playlist sets the mood. Lofi for focus. Upbeat for energy. Tomorrow I'm testing different playlists as it really makes a difference. 3. Something will go wrong and that’s OK I'm teaching 16 hours of live sessions for the first time with a new microphone/audio set-up, recording on my camera... there's so many variables and naturally something will slip. Focus on what you can control and relax. 4. You can mute yourself Apparently, no one wants to hear me chug water mid-session. Me gulping water was unwanted ASMR - just some of the great feedback I've received lol. 5. Invite people up to speak My misconception was that inviting people to speak live would derail sessions - it doesn't, it enhances them! Set expectations by giving people a time limit and then let them take the floor. 6. Details make the difference It's an easier ride to not care about the details, but I promise you it's worth it. We're doing local recordings to capture raw footage and then editing the files within 24 hours. Make something you're proud of. 7. Know your group We’re tracking everything we learn about each person. It’s time-consuming but it's probably my favourite thing that we're doing. 8. Use enrolment forms wisely Capture why people signed up, what they want, and what they’ve tried. This shapes how you support them and will really be felt. 9. Teaching live = a full-day job at the beginning In the first week, on both teaching days, I was rehearsing my notes, then I set everything up, I taught live for 2 hours, then we did a bonus Q&A for 30 minutes, then we did a 30-minute debrief and then I prepared the files to send to an editor overnight. It's now week 2 and I already have more headspace, but when it's your first time it definitely feels intense. 10. Be a sponge for all feedback Want to create the best product and experience possible? Leave your ego at the door and take onboard every piece of feedback. Are you procrastinating launching a project? Simply announcing the date made this whole thing real. If you’ve got an idea you’re sitting on: go public with it. Deadlines are magic. Not the made up kind... real deadlines that have a real consequence if you don't hit them (like letting people down) So grateful to be on this journey with an amazing group. Hope this helps! ✌️

                    228

I was absolutely honoured to be selected as a Leader of Tomorrow at the 54th St. Gallen Symposium in Switzerland. 500 leading decision-makers met 200 young talents from 87 nations to discuss this year’s topic of Shifting Global Power. Being invited as one of the 100 entrepreneurs to attend? I didn’t think it was real. I hesitated about going… wondering what I could bring to the event. I don’t watch much of the news. I don’t know much about politics. And I’d put myself in the category of young people who’ve lost faith in institutions. But these are the rooms to be in. When all you can do is listen, that’s when you learn something new. This year’s theme of Shifting Global Power couldn’t have been more relevant with what’s going on in the world right now. I got to hear incredibly inspiring talks from: - The Swiss President - The President of Montenegro - Wladimir Klitschko about the war in Ukraine - + hundreds more speakers I will never forget this experience of getting to meet so many young people who are already changing the world. We debated, connected, and even sang karaoke into the early hours. It’s hard to put into words just how special this event was. To receive such an opportunity is a blessing, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the St. Gallen team and the partners who made it happen. I’m sensing a huge pull towards impact-driven work. Besides, what else matters?
