Development of flexible electricity grid capability supports the wider journey to net zero as adoption of low carbon technology accelerates changes in electricity consumption.

Commercial Development Manager

British Gas

•	Programme leadership position designing and delivering operational change across British Gas Field Operations’ Transformation Programme. Focussed on strategy, operational excellence, target operating model design and analytics in support of a 5 year programme aiming to deliver £150m+ of benefits across a field force of 10,000+ FTE and £1.25bn budget

•	Close partnership working with our MD, Field Ops leadership team and Programme Directors to deliver a new operating model for BG Field Operations in response to new low carbon technologies, changing regulatory requirements and rapidly evolving customer needs

•	Accountable solution design lead for multiple elements of the future operating model for UK Field Operations including ‘Engineer of the Future’ terms and conditions, future engineer skill requirements and field force capacity flexibility. 18 month programme with total benefits case for full package of changes >£50m annually with implementation ongoing

•	Led the analysis and option assessment for new capacity flexibility requirements for UKFO repair workforce including detailed analysis of customer demand volatility and assessment of options to deliver flexibility. These recommendations underpin UKFO’s strategic approach to increasing capacity flexibility with annual benefits exceeding £10m

•	Initiated and led detailed, multi-disciplinary project team studying engineer capacity utilisation, creating insight and detailed recommendations relating to complex dynamics such as appointment degradation, system configuration and capacity erosion. Guided project through to implementation, resulting in £3.5m of annual savings

•	Line management of 2-3 direct reports and responsibility for scoping and leading high profile matrix teams within company-wide major change programmes

Strategy Manager / Business Intelligence Lead

Promoted to lead the Analysis and Insight team for British Gas' Smart Installations and Metering business (15 FTE). Core focus areas for me and my team were analytics, strategy development and execution and target operating model design for our Smart Metering business (c.2,500 FTE field colleagues with £200m annual budget, part of the wider multi-billion pound BG Smart Metering programme). 

•	Analytics and performance insights to support our MD, Field Ops Director and wider leadership team to identify and successfully implement improvements to customer outcomes and operational performance. 

•     Strategic analysis and long term strategy development for BG Smart Metering including scenario analysis and financial modelling of strategic options.

•	Accountable for development of data sources, analysis and reporting requirements for UKFO response to industry-wide All Reasonable Steps obligations for Smart metering. My team provided detailed internal insight and reporting as well as regular provision of data and performance tracking to external stakeholders (BEIS, Ofgem, Smart Energy GB)

•	Managing the transition from on-premise analytics architecture (SAS) to cloud based open-source solution (Hadoop, Hive SQL, R Studio, SQL) including cut over for all key data sources and operational reports. 

•	Business Intelligence. Maintaining and enhancing a core suite of reports used by c3,500 colleagues to track critical customer and operational outcomes across BG Smart Metering. Also owned and administered engineer Reward scheme for c.2,000 engineers with approx £10m annual budget. 

•	Merging and leading two previously separate analytical functions after a major restructure to realise operating synergies and better utilise analytical resources. 

•	Coaching and managing a team of 15 FTE.   Scored 97% manager effectiveness in annual climate survey.

Analytics Manager

Working to define the long term strategy and associated operating plan to ensure British Gas met its obligation to install c.12m Smart Meters for its customers by 2020. Core responsibilities:

- Strategic Planning: development of the long term plan for British Gas' Smart Metering operations (c.3,000 FTE, £250m annual budget) including medium to long term demand forecasting, resource planning and long term operating strategy development. 

- Operating Strategy: supporting our MD and his leadership team with strategic advice and insights across diverse topics including target operating model design, internal and external change landscapes and performance and capability development.

- Strategic insights: analysis of complex qualitative and quantitative data sources to derive strategic performance insights and craft recommendations to drive our internal transformation programme.

Senior Strategy Analyst

Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc

Operating strategy development, target operating model design and operational excellence projects across our portfolio of 500 stores and over 100,000 colleagues. Core responsibilities included:

 - Group wide transformation: detailed analysis and project development for the long term operating strategy for Morrisons' store portfolio.
 
- Scoping and delivering operational efficiencies and improvements to store replenishment processes with total annual savings in excess of £30m. 

- Detailed analysis of complex operational data to derive performance insights and identify future opportunities for improvement in end to end processes throughout our vertically integrated supply chain and store estate.
