Hi, I'm John and I'm a proud queer, 1st-generation Pilpinx Partnerships and Programs Manager who leverages rapport to build relationships with industry partners. Throughout my professional and academic career, I can plan, develop, and maintain high-leverage corporate and public entity partnerships to support K-12 students’ college and career readiness and college graduates' career development. Here’s what I’ve achieved thus far: • Supported 15+ coding bootcamp cohorts for ~300+ students with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain student satisfaction of 4.75+/5, and placed ~190 graduates post-graduation, during the ongoing 2022-present tech layoffs. • Analyzed 27,000+ rows of 2013-2019 student alumni data via Microsoft Excel and SQL and communicated key insights with stakeholders about coach performance and student behavior to drive outcomes via Tableau. • Promoted team synergy among project team members, and championed clear communication among partnered engineering teams for eight 3-5 day hackathons, with 4 teams winning awards: 2 teams winning 1st Place and 2 teams winning "Crowd Favorite". • Supported the 5-10-year accreditation process for the Teacher Education (TE) department by submitting a 2-pg. outcomes report; TE received full and maximum accreditation status. • Built trust with 60+ corporate and public employers to understand recruiting efforts and employer needs, resulting in partnerships with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and Partnerships for LA Schools. In my transition from career coaching to Partnership and Program Management, I will coordinate the development, design, and implementation of short- and long-term business and community engagement strategies aligned to the organization's mission. Eventually, I see myself in a leadership role where I can merge excellent people skills, a dedication to improving the student and alumni experience, and long-term planning and grant writing experience. A mantra that I share with teams I've worked with is that sometimes things change, but they change for the better.
