Marine Helicopter Squadron One "Marine One" (HMX-1)

One of only 7 Marine Corps pilots hand-picked to serve as aircraft Commander of Marine One and Marine Two.  Entrusted to provide worldwide rotary wing transportation to the President and Vice President of the United States, as well as foreign heads of State aboard Marine One
As the Operations Officer, coordinated squadron support to the White House Military Office for over 150 Presidential support detachments in the US and overseas and over 250 local Presidential and Vice-Presidential movements, including lift assets, C-17 support and internal V-22 movements. Planned, organized, and scheduled all current and future helicopter flight operations for more than 800 aircrew, maintenance, and security personnel providing continuous worldwide helicopter support to the President and Vice President of the United States and directed an annual operations budget of more than $50 million. Scheduled test and evaluation acquisition efforts between the Presidential Helicopter Squadron, Naval Air Systems Command, Headquarters Marine Corps, and the White House. Managed a Level III Presidential Support Facility that operated on a 365-Day continual cycle, providing aviation and security logistics to the President, Vice President and heads of State. Directly responsible for the oversight of a $22 million facility modernization and refurbishment project without a break in service or functionality throughout the 14-month process

Helicopter Pilot and Operations Officer

Served as the NATO representative to Kabul, Afghanistan for Airport Compliance to ICAO regulations, Advised Afghan, NATO and U.S. State Department officials on transition of authority, airport improvements and longevity of joint operability in accordance with multiple directives. Helped to develop lines of communication in order to train, advise and assist the Afghan Government in daily airport operations, development, security, and airfield emergency responsiveness. Provided security to coalition forces and advised the Afghan Security Forces during logistical operations around the city to verify surveillance equipment functionality. Implemented integration plan between NATO services and Afghan Civil Aviation Authority that achieved 50% greater service capacity, 30% cost reduction to the Hamid Karzai International Airport of Afghanistan

Led the maintenance and production efforts for over 210 junior officer and enlisted workforce, $35 million in assets and 13 CH-53E aircraft deployed globally in support of operational requirements. Created and implemented a streamlined squadron maintenance plan which increased the aircraft readiness rate by 64%, while simultaneously executing a Sustainment Program for the replacement of aircraft to ensure long-term and continuous aircraft availability

Instituted substantial improvements for the maintenance qualification program and revitalized the training, designation and tracking of licenses making the program a “Marine aviation-wide model for other units to implement." Created schedule and technical requirements for refurbishing squadron hangar facility. Oversaw the squadron’s relocation while ensuring seamless and uninterrupted flight operations during refurbishment

I coach from the life perspective. Having endured family suicide, death of our daughter, and divorce, I have the belief that we are all products of our experiences which can be an incredible advantage. Fear, inadequacy, doubt, inaction, and imposter-syndrome can all be overcome if you have the right belief system in place.
