My Story I was born in Raleigh NC in 1957. I grew up with parents that loved to sail. Our family spent many weekends in Oriental, a small sailing town in Eastern North Carolina. We owned a 32’ Pearson Vanguard. I fell in love with the water, boating, fishing, and everything about being on the water. I graduated from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in 1975 and was accepted into the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. I finished up at UNC and became a retail banker at Wachovia Bank. After 2 years as a banker, I was invited to be a crew member on a 130’ J-Class Sailing Yacht that one of my fraternity brothers was a mate on. At 22 years of age, I could not turn that opportunity down. It was fantastic. I spent the next 2 years sailing around the Caribbean and visiting most all the Islands from Puerto Rico down the island chain known as the Lesser Antilles. What fun! An unbelievable experience. Next, I was accepted into the Wake Forest University MBA program. I graduated and went to work for Hatteras Yachts as an International Sales Representative. Over the next few years, I married and had a set of my own twins! Later, Hatteras Yachts had me move on to a new dealership in Wrightsville Beach NC. A few years later, a tough recession hit. I had a family that required me to think about someone other than my self-absorbed love affair with boats. I was selling big ticket items and needed to sell something that the public needed. That product was mortgages. I have been in this industry ever since. I have been a producing branch manager since 1995, over 29 years! I love this occupation as I am putting people in their first homes facilitating their dreams coming true. I am helping people build wealth by restructuring their balance sheets and securing their retirements. It is satisfying. I am the father of 5 children. One set of twin boys 35 years old, followed by a beautiful daughter, now 30, and another set of twin boys 19 years old and freshmen in college. My wife and I still love boating and we have my mother’s family home near the water in Beaufort NC we regularly visit. I would love to assist anyone needing a mortgage.
