I've been in the software industry for 20+ years now and I still am not sure I have got it right yet. But that is what I love about it! Technology constantly is changing. I really enjoy learning new tools, techniques, and processes that bring improvements in efficiency and produce better business outcomes. The minute you think you have it under control, the industry pulls the rug out from under you with new and better ways to do things. I really enjoy working and mentoring teams to be more Agile. The self-empowerment, transparency and collaborative nature of Agile make teams much more effective and also make for a more engaged environment. I have had broad experience in: People Management: building and developing high performing teams, optimizing organizational structures to minimize cross-functional friction. Process: building outcome-oriented processes that create great product innovations and establish career growth for employees. Architecture: aligning tooling and systems design with business needs to optimize speed of value delivered to clients. To me, the beauty of management is when you can align teams with business outcomes, giving them the tools they need to succeed, and then getting out of the way and watch great things happen.
