I have a 40+ year history of corporate finance and investing in Investment Banking, academia and venture capital. Now, we’re building an eco-system in Hong Kong and ASEAN for start-ups, SMEs and early-stage investors. After growing up and studying in North America, I worked in the financial markets of Toronto and, briefly, New York. I then spent 22 years in London, first, working in the international capital markets (DCM & ECM) and, later, training and teaching financial markets education, both academically and professionally. In 2013, I moved to Suzhou, China and joined the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at XJTLU to continue my career in both academic teaching and professional training. Since August 2016, I have returned to industry to help early-stage companies grow their business and raise funding in the private capital markets. We are building an eco-system of enterprise partners, investors and running a Fintech accelerator in partnership with Founder Institute. I also feel it is important that we all show personal initiative to support 'good causes'. My mission in this regard is to support organizations and charities that provide help to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and support to the families of these children. Even if you are not wealthy, there is always a 'little something' that you can do to help those who find life a real struggle.
